Nc 5....

IS DRIVING ME INSANE! I am so tired of studying for this exam. I read the TCN book, now I am going back through to do the recommended reading (probably backwards, I know!). It's taking me FOREVER! I'm trying to be a good doobie and use the content guide. I think these things are horrible! Am I the only one that doesn't understand how to use them? I'm scheduled to take this exam on Monday because there are of course no other convenient testing times for like a month! I go back to work on Tuesday, so I'd really like to be done with this thing before that starts.

Regulate this, regulate that....Why does the human body have to be so complicated!

Where are the 3 shots of Tequila? I could use some of that in this thread as well!

Ok everyone! Now what should I do? I just took form B only to receive a 58! Two stinking points higher! I have an appointment Thursday at 3:30 right after work to take this test.. I have tomorrow off and work 6:45-2:15 on Wednesday.

Should I postpone it or go for it? I feel like I learn one thing, and forget another. Nothing seems to be sticking in my head. I am answering TONS of practice questions through some of the resources I just purchased. I do fine on those, but I am very confused with what's going on with my head!

Is this your retake test? If so I would reschedule and give yourself another week.

Nope, first try on NC 5..

My husband just told me to do the best that I could do.. and I said, "Well, what if that's another D?" then he jokingly said, "Then we'll lock you in the basement until you pass!"

When it comes to rescheduling, there's no appointments available as of right now... This upcoming weekend is packed for us socially, and it's pretty much back to full time work next week. So, the pressure is on!

You can try it but I failed that test and I got in the low 60's. Its hard and NC3. Good Luck!

Same boat, I just stopped studying NC5 to jump to NC6, I'm overwhelmed....never felt like this for any other NC exam. Good luck in what ever you decide Erin...I'll be rooting for ya.:yeah:

WOW !! All this time I thought it was me. Thank the lord its the test and not my brain dying. I passed NC 1 2 3 4 6 Foundations Micro and lifespan with little/no studying. Got to this bugger and got 2 D's. I'm embarassed to say that I have been lacking this one test for TWO YEARS. Just sitting there on my eval report laughing at me. Barring me from greater opportunity and more money. Boy is this sad on my part. I gotta get it together before my BON starts the CA/VA crap thats starting to spread around.

Thanks everyone for your input! I am still really torn as what I should do. The next available time for me to take this test isn't until September 6th. I had a major breakdown last night and all I want to do is quit!

I'm worried my study time is going to plummet after this week due to me returning to my work. I also just got word that we're starting the year down an instructor, so I'm waiting for a phone call asking for me to step up and take that position again....As tempting as it is, I can't do it because of these stupid tests!!

Hi erin, I know you just want to get it over, but believe me, you just don't want to go in feeling less than ready. If you're not ready, then postpone. But if you can write down of paper some key info for different disorders, ( in the middle of work, I do it all the time), just to keep things in the front of your brain, and can id some of the disorders w/someone you actually know(as a remembering tool), you are mostly likely ready. Sept 6 is just around the corner, you have done well in preparing for this exam, but just make sure you are realllly ready. I'm studying for this exam as well, but for me it's a retake, and I am feeling pretty good rt. now, but still have more to review. Good luck on whateber you decide.

fatcat: It's not that I feel that I'm not ready...... I just must be getting things mixed up in my head!

I am such an idiot..... I had an appointment scheduled for next Wednesday for NC 7.. Well, I rescheduled that and put NC 5 onto that date! I'm going to go the better safe than sorry route. I am just really not happy with the practice test scores. I would really love to not have this test hanging over my head for this weekend, but OH WELL!

I found going to the practice test and studying all the rationals really helped.

This is the one exam people have failed more than any, erin...don't fall into that category...go into it feeling prepared. I've been studying for both NC5 and NC6, I want to be finished by Sept 30....I thought no problem but the content is driving me bananas. I just don't want to get this far and fail. Don't rush, the saddest thing is when you hit that submit button....knowing you should have prepared more.

Good, I am glad that you are ready. It's a big test, I really want you to do well. Maybe it's my anxiety that I felt from failing it the first time. You will be fine. Relax, deep breaths and take your time.

It's easy to stress about the things you may not know or just don't get. Take a day or two off, recompose yourself and get back into it. I've find in traditional nursing school that I was over studying and couldn't get my act together. I had test anxiety and it really screwed me up.

Best of luck...:yeah:
