Multiple workers sick on same shift on same floor...

Yet hospital does nothing, doesn't even look into it. 10 of us sick, same symptoms for several weeks now, several now have pneumonia from it.

You'd think the health nurse or management would see why so many are calling in ;0 Other then to simply scold them for calling in sick lol...

My guess is that they have their reasons for not wanting to know. If the identified the problem they might have to report it to health dept. and then the news media might find out. Yeah, from their perspective better just to play stupid.

Our Employee health office has a hotline # for us to call when we have sx and out for X number of days. We also have to be cleared by them before returning to work. We've had a few nurses who've been out 2-3 weeks.

All of us came down with high temps last night. All 4 of us had temps >102 before the night was over. We were all called and told not to come in tonight.

They know why people are getting sick, it's H1N1! The fact that younger, previously healthy people are readily getting pneumonia from it, is practically diagnostic in itself. I don't think many employers call people who are out sick to find out why they're not at work, because you have to call in the reason for your absence.

The CDC recommends that no one go to work or where they can expose others to the flu while having s/s of flu, to contain it. I hope for patients' and others' sakes that they call agencies to get nurses in, when so many are sick. Having been an employee health nurse, let me tell you they're so busy, there's no time to call those who are out sick. Determining what is causing that, is the role of Public Health Departments.
