Mt. Sac Nursing Program 2015

Hello everyone, so I just received an E-mail from MT sac and I was selected as a Candidate and now I have to set up an appointment with a Nursing counselor to confirm all my information including transcripts etc.

Here is the email in quotes

"Dear Applicant,

You have been selected as a candidate for the Nursing Program at Mt. San

Antonio College. You now need to make a Counseling Appointment in our

counseling center. The counseling center is in the student services

building (9B on the map) and they are located on the second floor. To make

your appointment you will call the counseling center at (909)274-4380. It

is very important that you identify yourself as a student candidate for the

nursing program. The appointments will begin on March 31, 2015 and end on

April 30, 2015. Your appointment will be with one of the following

counselors or educational advisors:

This is a verification appointment and you need to have official copies of

all of your transcripts with you when you come to your appointment. If you

have earned credits at Mt. SAC we do not need an official copy of this

transcript. You must also show proof of high school graduation or the

equivalent. If you have previously earned a degree (associate's or

bachelor's), and the degree is posted to your transcript, you will not need

to show proof of high school graduation. You will also need to show proof

of eligibility to enroll in MATH 71 Intermediate Algebra. Completion of a

higher-level math course will also meet this requirement. If you have

specific questions before your appointment you may contact the nursing

educational advisor, Kathleen Clarke, at [email protected].

If your transcripts are verified, you will be notified if you will be

accepted to the Fall 2015 semester.

Sincerely,

Mt. San Antonio Nursing Program"

now my question is has anyone else received this letter? Does this mean IM pretty much in the Nursing program???? Im so anxious .anyone else?

Thank you,

-Steve

Hey all,

I personally was stating what the counselor told me herself. I was talking about the list of candidates the counselor showed me herself which showed where everybody stood as far as points. And yes, the counselor does verify all forms submitted. They obviously don't tell you that you are in, but they do give you an estimate of what your chances are of possibly getting accepted in regards to whether your points are competitive enough. Well the counselor I saw did discuss that with me. Anyways, good luck to you all í ½í¸ƒ.

I concur with lizy01. I also spoke to K Clark (the main point of contact) and verified there is indeed a list of 120. They will pick the top 60 and the possibility of an alternate. There is no wait list with the point system. You are given your number on that list and told where you stand and the statistical probability of getting in or not. In May they will know the confirmed 60 spots and send letters of acceptance or not.

Hey everyone! Finally had my meeting today. They basically verify your transcripts and let you know if you're likely to be accepted. She said I'm most likely in!!! :) so excited!

I wonder if this means that I wasn't chosen. I never received an email to make an appointment. Only an email that said my application was successfully submitted. My points were 76. :/

Did you check your Mt SAC email? Some people were only checking their personal email.

Yeah check mt sac email. 76 points sounds good

Not sure what the points cut of is, but maybe try and call to see more info. It's stressful :( have you heard from any other schools? Or did you only apply to Mt. SAC?

I have been checking my Mt Sac email daily. :( I sent an email today. Maybe my application was lost or forgotten about. Anyone on here advised they were put on the alternate list?

I had my appointment last week and I have 70 points. I wasn't advised for sure of anything other than my points added up and where I stood out of the 120 people who were sent the email. I was told it is hard to tell for the people who are borderline because even though there are people with higher points some of them choose other schools, and some never make an appointment with a counselor which has to be done by April 30th. The first week of May the top 60 who got their transcripts verified will be sent an email to take a background check. There again some people have already chosen other schools so they move further down the list. Then the top 60 who pass background are offered a spot in the program and the counselor said even at that point some people decline or just don't reply. She didn't say how many alternates are chosen.

Thank you for the information. I sent Them an email and hope to hear back soon. Does anyone know if it's allowed to retake the HESI exam if they don't accept you the first time? That's where I lost most of my points. I only got a 77 on the HESI.

I believe you can only take it once. You might want to contact them about taking the HESI elsewhere and transferring it over. I might be wrong though

I too had my appointment and everything is looking good. I don't want to jinx it and I'll feel happier when I receive the actual acceptance letter. But I look forward to meeting you all on orientation day and am super excited for this journey. =)
