Hello everyone, so I just received an E-mail from MT sac and I was selected as a Candidate and now I have to set up an appointment with a Nursing counselor to confirm all my information including transcripts etc.
Here is the email in quotes
"Dear Applicant,
You have been selected as a candidate for the Nursing Program at Mt. San
Antonio College. You now need to make a Counseling Appointment in our
counseling center. The counseling center is in the student services
building (9B on the map) and they are located on the second floor. To make
your appointment you will call the counseling center at (909)274-4380. It
is very important that you identify yourself as a student candidate for the
nursing program. The appointments will begin on March 31, 2015 and end on
April 30, 2015. Your appointment will be with one of the following
counselors or educational advisors:
This is a verification appointment and you need to have official copies of
all of your transcripts with you when you come to your appointment. If you
have earned credits at Mt. SAC we do not need an official copy of this
transcript. You must also show proof of high school graduation or the
equivalent. If you have previously earned a degree (associate's or
bachelor's), and the degree is posted to your transcript, you will not need
to show proof of high school graduation. You will also need to show proof
of eligibility to enroll in MATH 71 Intermediate Algebra. Completion of a
higher-level math course will also meet this requirement. If you have
specific questions before your appointment you may contact the nursing
educational advisor, Kathleen Clarke, at [email protected].
If your transcripts are verified, you will be notified if you will be
accepted to the Fall 2015 semester.
Sincerely,
Mt. San Antonio Nursing Program"
now my question is has anyone else received this letter? Does this mean IM pretty much in the Nursing program???? Im so anxious .anyone else?
Thank you,

It means that you will need to need make an appointment and have all of the required information submitted by the deadline. The interview with Nursing faculty member, who will probably be your academic advisor, is quite important. Dress in business attire and treat this like a job interview.
Typically the nursing faculty will review all of the applications and then select the best candidates.

Hello,
I received the same email. I already made my counseling appointment. I have the same questions as you! The email makes it sound like we just have to get everything verified and then we're in. At least that's what I'm hoping.

I'd like to give this a bump. I am waiting as well on my appointment at the beginning of April. If anyone has any past/present experience with the Mt SAC RN program would be greatly appreciated.

I received the email last Monday. It seems like an acceptance pending verification. Has anyone had their meeting yet? I also got into Rio Hondo. I have to let them know of my enrollment by April 10th.

I also received this email and it is a bit confusing in regards to whether its transcript verification pending (then accepted) or another criteria with qualified applicants, then they decide. I left a message for K. Clark and hopefully we can find out soon! That would be amazing if I got in at Mt. SAC! Good luck and let us know if you hear something sooner!
update: I just heard back from K Clark. and they sent out this email to the top 120, and there is a pool of 60 applicants that they will be choosing from. Depending on your number (i.e 1-120) will determine if you are in the program or an alternate. Also consider that people may accept different programs other than Mt. SAC so the "acceptance" into the program may be different in regards to top 1-60. Once you make your counseling appointment, you will find out more information.Best of luck you guys!
Thank you for the update! Now I'm really nervous. I was under the assumption that they weren't going to send that many emails out since they changed to accepting applications twice a year. 120 seems like a lot to only accept 60 applicants. I had 70 points in the multi criteria screening. I don't feel like that is competitive enough. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
They send out that many due to the background checks and the possibility of accepting other schools. I was told that it was too close last year so this year they were more conservative. I believe the cut off was 74 but you must verify with your counselor.
Hmm makes me nervous. I have 80 points. I'm hoping this is competitive enough.
I'm sure you are fine. Good luck!

Hey everyone. I too received the same letter. I was really excited to receive it, but after reading it's still not a sure thing, I'm back to feeling anxious. I have my appointment next Monday and will post an update. I believe over all I am coming in with 79 points, not very much. I haven't been able to find too many previous threads to see where the cut off is...... I'm really hoping for the best. I've done all of my pre-req's at Mt Sac and this is my first choice school. Best of luck everyone.
I know its stressful SilleeA but do not despair. I am sure there will be some positive news. Mt. SAC is my first choice as well since I too did all my prerequisites at SAC. My appointment is the 14th so hopefully we all get good news! Lord knows this whole process is so stressful and competitive.
