Mt. Sac Nursing Program 2015

Hello everyone, so I just received an E-mail from MT sac and I was selected as a Candidate and now I have to set up an appointment with a Nursing counselor to confirm all my information including transcripts etc.

Here is the email in quotes

"Dear Applicant,

You have been selected as a candidate for the Nursing Program at Mt. San

Antonio College. You now need to make a Counseling Appointment in our

counseling center. The counseling center is in the student services

building (9B on the map) and they are located on the second floor. To make

your appointment you will call the counseling center at (909)274-4380. It

is very important that you identify yourself as a student candidate for the

nursing program. The appointments will begin on March 31, 2015 and end on

April 30, 2015. Your appointment will be with one of the following

counselors or educational advisors:

This is a verification appointment and you need to have official copies of

all of your transcripts with you when you come to your appointment. If you

have earned credits at Mt. SAC we do not need an official copy of this

transcript. You must also show proof of high school graduation or the

equivalent. If you have previously earned a degree (associate's or

bachelor's), and the degree is posted to your transcript, you will not need

to show proof of high school graduation. You will also need to show proof

of eligibility to enroll in MATH 71 Intermediate Algebra. Completion of a

higher-level math course will also meet this requirement. If you have

specific questions before your appointment you may contact the nursing

educational advisor, Kathleen Clarke, at [email protected].

If your transcripts are verified, you will be notified if you will be

accepted to the Fall 2015 semester.

Sincerely,

Mt. San Antonio Nursing Program"

now my question is has anyone else received this letter? Does this mean IM pretty much in the Nursing program???? Im so anxious .anyone else?

Thank you,

-Steve

Hey Lizy01. Would you mind sharing what your total points are and what number you are on the list?

Hi silleeA

I had 82 over all points. I don't know what exact # I was on the roster because she went over it briefly, but I'll say I was somewhere in the 20's. There was a few ahead of me with higher points.

....Or maybe the the 30's. There was a few ahead of me though. I just know I was within the 60 lol;)

This makes me feel so much better. The possibility of me be in the top 60 is good with 80 points in assuming

I think anybody with 80 is "safe" but then again there are the candidates that decide to go elsewhere which leaves room 4 others to take. So hopefully all you get accepted. Good luck ya'll

.... I mean we. Oops

😅 hope so. Where else did you all apply?

I applied @ county & citrus as well. I also met with the citrus nursing counselor the same day. And as far as county my points aren't competitive enough unfortunately. That was my 1st choice. Did u apply elsewhere?

I applied to citrus (had my meeting yesterday too), mt sac, and rio hondo which I got accepted to. Mt sac is my number 1 since I live so close.

my appointment is on the 14th at 2pm with Chan Ton.

I believe my points are 74.5 exact. What are alternates by the way?

60 people are accepted. Not all of them accept the offer and go else where for nursing school. That's when an alternate gets an acceptance offer in replace.

I just met with a counselor this past thursday 4/2. I don't know where people are getting the idea of this list; the reason for the point system is to eliminate a list of any type. When I met with my counselor I was only her second candidate she had met with. The reason for these appointments is to verify all the aforementioned documents in the email, GPA, math eligibility, and etc. When I asked her if there was an average for those accepted she had stated that they still do not have an average.Being that people may be over estimating their GPA, and or not providing substantial proof to add to their points. If it makes anyone feel any better she also stated there were NO candidates with a 4.0. I am thinking the above people were given their number in the order in which they were seen per their appointment. The counselor did say we may hear back from the program mid May with an official acceptance/alternate letter.
