MPACers

I called the MPAC for the heck of it. They are scheduling those students whose applications were accepted as of March 4th for 7-9 months out. Here I am twiddling my thumbs for another couple of months because my was accepted May 19th.

Gosh, I can't wait to drive from Iowa to Wisconsin in December, January, or February! Last year's winter bit the big one; maybe this year will be a mild winter.

You could always come to the Lone Star State. We'll be sweating by February.

I'm green with jealousy! However, I think I'd cow out more if I had to fly first. I don't want to add more stress to the weekend!

Wow! My application was accepted June 4th.I applied to Wisconsin sites and Mansfield Ohio. So I guess I'm looking at the Spring for a date.Ick!

It goes fast, I guess. This first month of waiting pretty much flew for me.

Which testing site is moving the fastest? I'm in MIchigan so, I'm kind of in the middle of the Northeast and midwest. The PA sites are just as far as the Ohio/Wisconsin ones......I guess I don't need to worry about it quite yet anyways.. Just curious if anyone knew!

so is it 7-9 months from when you apply or from when they accept your cpne application.

do you think my chances will increase that much of getting a date sooner if i put i can test in amarillo and plano ( mid week and week end ) ... i just cant fly anywhere so far from home. i am worried about having to retake this thing and not getting done by the sept 2009 deadline. it does not help me that i had to wait so long( which i wont do until the first week of july) to apply for the cpne in the first place .

From what I read, you only had to get the theory exams done by September 2009 under the old curriculum. It is 7-9 months from when you apply to your date. I applied in May, so say I find out in August what my date is. Those three months are part of that 7-9 months of waiting. The fastest area to get a date is NPAC, although I have been reading that several people are changing to NPAC from the other areas, so maybe that will free up some space for us MPACers (or SPACers) who don't want to or can't fly. The SPAC seems to be the slowest.

I just received an update for my CPNE status. I just applied and basically I wanted to take it after Nov 14,2008 because I'm going on a cruise Nov 1-6. Do you think it pushed me back on the list because I did this? I wasn't expecting to get a date until after that date anyways but knowing my luck, they would have scheduled during my cruise. Any thoughts about what I did? I applied for the CPNE June 2nd and it was accepted June 6th.

I don't think it would have pushed you back at all. Did you apply for a cancellation date?

No. Because I don't like surprises. I am full speed ahead with the studying and may change it to cancellation date once I have gone over all the areas of care, learned my mnemonic, learned all the labs and know the study guide like the back of my hand. I figured by that time 7 months will have passed and I will feel ready. At least that is what I think.

I applied for the MPAC the end of March and received a date yesterday for September 26th. St. Mary's in Madison.

Woo hoo:yeah:
