Missing my partner :*(

I know I haven't been on here a lot.. I guess I just need to vent. My partner of 13 years, Sherry passed away recently. Basically, she collapsed at home. She was alert and lucid when I went to get the phone to call 911, but when I got back to her, she was unresponsive. I did what I had to do, started cpr, called for help... but I guess her brain went without oxygen for too long. This happened on a Thurs night. Sun night, I made the hardest decision of my life... to let her go. :*( I know her spirit and soul were already gone, I was holding out for good results on an EEG. Some of her organs had begun to fail, and she just went downhill way too fast.

I miss her SO much, and I know time will play a huge part in my healing.....right now, breathing and blinking take too much of an effort....I love and miss you, Sherry, forever and ever, amen. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

I picked up Sherrys' remains the other day, as well as a remembrance necklace. It's a silver heart with a black paw print on it. We have 3 fur kitties, but are also both dog lovers, so that's what it stands for. In a way, I feel 'calm' because she's back here home with me and the kitties, but at the same time, it makes it harder for me to be in denial, you know? Missing me sweetheart more and more everyday. And for those that mentioned it, I have already been in therapy for years before this happened, so I am getting help professionally. Thanks so much for everyones thoughts and prayers for us both. xoxoxo

I am so sorry for the loss of your partner. My thoughts and prayers.

Having some sort of symbol of her (the necklace you mentioned) helps with healing I think. My mom bought a dragonfly necklace for each of ladies in our imediate family to wear in memory of my brother. And I plan on getting checkered flag tattoo (he was a huge NASCAR) fanatic as soon as I find someone to draw up what I want!

Don't let anyone dictate how you should grieve. Cry when you need to, get ticked off and scream if you need to, talk about Sherry and your life together to anyone and everyone. Don't feel bad if on some days you don't want to get out of bed or have no ambition to do the laundry or sweep the floors... It will get better and remember Sherry will always be with you in your heart.

I'm sorry sweetheart for your loss. Time heals all wounds.

I am so, very sorry for your loss. Those words aren't nearly strong enough for this situation, and I wish I had the words to offer you the comfort you seek. I pray you will find peace, and that you are soon able to smile at her memory. Hugs for you!

I am so sorry for your loss. You and Sherry had good years and good times together -some people never get to experience that..even if it doesnt get better with time you can think of good times that you both had and how fortunate you both are to have love in your life.Sending good thoughts and prayers your way
