The program is good.I took my pre reqs there. They give you alot of run around for there aas program thtas why I did not attend. Not too much pressure since u already have your aas, which was the hard part.Good luck.Btw you have to pass all nurs classes i think with a b- which is a 80 to 82

I took my pre-reqs at Medgar Evers as well. I went there for convenience--it was the school closest to my house and had a full schedule of evening classes. But I wasn't very happy with the labs. The lectures were good; there was one professor that I had for A&PI and Micro who was excellent. But the labs are poorly equipped and disorganized; we didn't do half the labs we were supposed to do. The only class that had a decent lab was Micro. Because of my experiences during pre-reqs I wouldn't even consider them for the nursing program.

I've also been taking my prereqs at Medgar Evers. Although I've

had a few problems, I've been told Medgar Evers has one of the

best nursing programs. They have a 99% passing rate for the

Nursing Exam.

Thanks all, finally some discussion on MEC.

From my recent research and readings it seems that they have restructure the programme and the results are encouraging, judging from MEC's performance at the State 2008 nursing examinations: ADN & BSN.

Please see thread: New York City NYC Cuny Nursing School.

i'm currently attending mec, i'm taking my last pre-rec class (microbio) before i plunge for the nln...but i have a dilemma!

my first semester fall 2008 i took 5 classes:nutrition, eng, math, a&p lab/lecture... now i have to admit that it was very overwelming. end result i got a "c" in math,"b" in eng, "c" in a&p & an "a" in nutrition.

the following semester's i had two more a&p's , i got "b's & chem i got another "b"...now for the question...

mec only accepts students into the nursing program that have completed all thier pre-rec's with a b- grade or higher, it's to my understanding that you can't even take the nln either without meeting up to those standards.

i meet with my academic counselor on friday to get the real deal because i don't want to take that a&p class over that i got the "c" in in 2008...am i wrong for feeling that way?...i don't plan on staying in mec for the program anyway, i plan on applying to pbisn, to hopefully be accepted & attend in the fall of this year 2010...but all that won't be possible if i'm not allowed by mec to take the nln because of that "c" grade...which means it'll throw me to wait another year till mec gives the nln exam nxt year 2011 or do i have to wait on mec? if i don't plan on staying there past my pre-rec stage, can i take the test elsewhere & have the grades sent to pbisn? or should i just suck it up & take the class over this summer? but i don't know when i'll be able to schedule for the nln exam again...i know mec gives it once a yr for lpn students & once a yr for pre-rn students but who wants to wait that long... help guyz, i'm confused...thanx!!:crying2:
