I'm not sure how I should feel about a comment my instructor made recently about my class. We are in out last term and most of us are on edge thinking of all the exams we will be having and then the NCLEX on top of that. We are all working to stay positive in our thinking. But our instructor, who is also the Director of Nursing, told us that he, and his secretary, are taking bets on all of us as to which ones are going to fail the NCLEX. Talking about throwing a wrench in the motivation and anxiety. After that almost of the class had the wind taken out of our sails. I was wondering if anyone else may have had a similar experience and what advice you might have to help keep motivated nurses to be, motivated.
I would be darn mad if any instructor said anything like that. That is very unprofessional on their part. You need to get mad as h*ll and prove them wrong!! Don't take it to heart.

There are some really unprofessional (and plain nuts) nursing instructors. I could never figure out what made them tick, and learned to ignore their remarks - and vow to never be "that" sort of person.

they are idiots, plain and simple. poor pass rates can be attributed, in part, to poor instruction.
My instructors were VERY negative, they had us so beaten down. Some of my classmates still haven't taken their NCLEX and we graduated in December, but so far we have a 100% pass rate for those that have taken it.
Don't let it get to you. Stay focused, study hard, and do your best!!
Thank you so much everyone! After reading your comments and support, I feel motivated enough put my head above the clouds, push through all that negativity, and ace the NCLEX! Why can't all of you be my nursing instructors!! :redbeathe
