I am feeling so bad, I haven't taken Math in over 15 years. Took placement exam and my assessment indicated that I need to start with "BASIC MATH"
first. Am I the only dummy needed remedial math? Are there are good free math tutorials online?

NO! You're definately not the only one!! When I began this whole process I'd been out of school a looooong time. Started there (basic math) and it all started to come back. You'll be fine!!

You're not alone. Luckily I had taken a math class right out of high school at the college I'm at now and it counted as my math credit when I went back for nursing. I'm sure if I hadn't had that credit, I would've had to start in basic math too. It had been 13 years since high school and I forgot how to do a lot of math. When I had to take the TEAS test for entrance to nursing school, I had to look at my daughter's math book to remind me how to do basic algebra. lol She got a kick out of that.

The threads/links that Daytonite posted were the same ones I used as a refresher. They are really good. Daytonite always knows the best sites to help you with your questions & VickyRN too.

Needing a refresher does not make you a dummy, lol! It is by no means a gauge of ability or intelligence.
Needing a refresher and not taking one would make one a dummy.

I hadn't had any math for 20+ years when I went back to school, and I had to take the Dumb Old People class, just like yourself. I'm still alive, and no worse off for having had the experience. :)
