LPN to RN bridge program

Congrats on getting in the RN bridge and moving closer to your goals! I started my advanced placement program a few days ago. I was really scared and overwhelmed at first because I've been an LPN for 7-8 years. Now I'm my "failure is not an option" mode--which got me through the LPN program.

We can both do this. I will be done in 3 semesters. The wait list where I am is now 4 years! No way I want to start over. Wishing you all the best in your program!

Congrats. I too am an LPN who was just accepted into the bridge program at my local community college. I am a bit nervous but this is something I really want so I know I will be ok. I am also taking courses for the BSN and will continue once I am finished with my RN. You will do great. Good Luck!

Congrats! I totally get your excitement and nervousness! I was an LPN for 3 years and then went back to school to start taking my pre-reqs for the bridge program. Tomorrow starts my last semester and fingers crossed May will be graduation...finally. But it's not the end of my college career. I'll be right back taking classes in the summer to apply toward my RN to BSN program :)

Take a deep breath, try to relax. In all honesty, I found my LPN schooling much more intense and stressful than my RN program. All of our LPN's are doing wonderfully in the classes. I find it more of a refresher course. While some new skills are learned, 99% of them I had done and have mastered (somewhat haha) during my LPN schooling and in my career as an LPN. The classes for me were refreshers of the ones I took during my LPN schooling. Yes, there maybe some things new but because of already having been through the course, I don't have to spend as much time studying as I did the first time I learned it and can spend more time on the new material.

Having already been through the LPN program, the RN program won't be such a shock to the system. You have already experienced the stress, lack of sleep, hours of studying, learning a new way to study and answer NCLEX style questions and time management. Best of luck to you...While I know you are looking at the time remaining until you are finished but I promise, you will blink your eyes and realize holy moly...it's so close.

It's almost Tuesday!!! Here we go. My first day of my LPN to RN bridge program starts tomorrow as well. My first 2 classes are online for the theory portion so I already have access to them and know my assignments. I'm going to get started as soon as I get home from work today. Good luck and congrats!

I start my nursing classes this week. Our program is 2 semesters. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I just keep thinking I know I can, I know I can lol. I have credits that will go towards my BSN also so I'm not gonna stop till then. Great luck to all of you and I look forward to hearing your progress

How was your first day? I am trying not to fall behind so I'm working on finishing everything early before the weekend. I only have 2 classes this semester so I don't feel overwhelmed yet.

EWWWW! First lecture and todays was Cardiac...EKG's...yuck. During LPN school I was a master at the EKG's, knew it frontwards and backwards and was thankful when I was able to say good riddance to it. Now, its back to haunt me. Today will be spent finishing up my work (paycheck work haha), then its to the nursing math book to refresh on it b/c we have a test coming up and then it will be me with my hot date...the 20lb med/surg book!

Thank you all sooo much!! I'm very excited and so far so good. I am definitely in Beast Mode I'm trying to get the best grades I can get and I am very attentive. I know everyday wont be a great day but the fact that I'm here is a blessing in itself.
