LPN programs

I was just curious how many of you are getting your LPN-I am seven months out from graduation. I am in a one year comprehensive program. We spend four days a week in class, nine hours a day. Tuesday we start med-surg clinicals. I have a lot of experience in nursing already so I am really excited but I sure wish I was getting paid. Unfortunately, my program does not get college credit for ANY classes we take, and lucky for me I guess I have most of my pre-reqs. I am 28 and did two years of college work for my BSN then went to work bc I wasn't taking school seriously. I plan on finding an accelerated program to my ADN then take my BSN classes on line. Seems like such a long road and seven months seems forever away.

I'm in my first year (LPN) of an ADN program. We will get our practical nursing diploma & pin this May and can sit for the NCLEX-PN hopefully soon after. We have classes 2 days a week and clinicals 2 days a week from 6:30-2. We are in maternity/peds & mental health right now. We are getting ready to register for our last term of our first year. It's gone by so fast! Hopefully next year will whiz by just the same . Good luck with your classes & clinicals & may the time fly for you as well.

Hi there.....I am also 7 months from Grad. from my LPN Program. We are in class 3 days a week and clinicals 2 1/2 days a week. We are on the Med-Surg floor right now and I loved it! I start rotations next week. I cannot wait to go for my RN too!

I am 7 months away from graduating from my LPN program, too. I take night classes so it will be almost 2 years of school when I am done. :)

hey! i am just starting the lpn course at a state college. i have spent the last 3 semesters on pre-reqs. we attend class 3 (or 4) days per week with clinicals 1 day per week. next semester, that ratio will change to 2 class days and 3 clinical days.

nice to meet you all!

Neat to see how many of us will be graduating around the same time. I really can't wait but I get nervous too. Going from a tech to a licensed nurse is a big change. I am sure I will do okay, but still, nerve racking!

we will graduate on may 13th! :D can't wait!

(we started at the end of august.)

right now we have 3 days of class (2x 0800-1700 and 1x 0800-1300)and 2 days of clinicals (0640-1615). starting the beginning of february, we'll have 2 days of class and 3 days of clinicals.

i think this semester will be more fun, we now get to go to all the specialty areas (or, day surgery, gi lab, wound clinic, l&d, pedi, ...)

so, where do you all want to end up? I have issues with my back and may have fibro so I have to limit myself in how much labor I do. I can do a little, but really have to be careful. Passing meds isn't a great thing either since I also have neck issues and have problems looking down for a long time or standing for a long time. I know, it sounds like I am in the wrong profession but this is what is right for me and is my calling. I will make it work

I'd like to end up doing Neuro ICU. I'd more than likely have to have my RN for that, but I plan on getting that not long after my LPN. I guess I will look into working in a clinic of some kind. There are so many areas of nursing that one can go into that I really don't know what will happen. I could fall in love with an area I never had a desire to go into. I LOVE rehab though, working with brain injuries, that would be great.

So looking forward to getting started though, let me tell ya!

I'd like to have about 2 yrs in med surg while I'm getting my BSN. Then I think I'd like to either do Occupational health for my husbands company, O.B , Geriatric Pysch/Dementia, school nurse, or public health.

I hope to know by the time I'm done with school! :uhoh21:

Hi I am a distance education student and I graduate this May 12. We do our clinicals fri, sat, sun every other weekend. 10hrs fri, 10hrs sat, and 8 hrs on sunday. I cant wait to be done. I am finishing up with Nursing roles, IV certification and cultural anthropology. It has taken me 3 years to get to the end of the road as you can say, but I have almost made it. I start a cardiology rotation in feb. I am looking forward to it, this specialty really interest me. Anyways, the best of luck to everyone.
