Hi Everbody,

I just want to say first off that this website is really intresting and I am really glad I found it.

Im a senior in high school at a very small town in Oregon, and this fall 2012 I will be moving to Central Wyoming for college. I am very excited, but I have no clue what to expect. I was hoping someone would tell me what to expect or what to do. I want to get into the nursing program, but dont know where even to start to get into the program or what to do to even get qualified to get into the program. I hope you guys can help me out with this.

Thank you,

Congratulations in advance on your upcoming high school graduation - it's an exciting time!

As you've found, there is a wealth of information on AN about nursing as a career. For specific admission requirements to be admitted to the nursing major at your college -- your adviser will be in the best position to answer your questions.

Good luck to you. :)

okay Thank you!!

Hello. Good luck in your quest to become a nurse.

Make a list of questions for your guidance counselor. Especially about financing and student loans.

I took all my pre -requirement courses .. and then applied to the nursing program.

It was much more do-able to do the nursing clinicals , without the other courses involved.

Takes longer but I feel it is the only way to go.

Keep us posted!

first of all welcome to the cite and let me congratulate you on your desire to further your education. as it was mentioned previously, is best to sit with a nursing guidance counselor in order to get the proper information. unquestionably, it's best to get all of the pre-reqs. out of the way, this will place you ahead of the game and first in line to take the entrance exam for the nursing program. wishing you the very best in all of your future endeavors....aloha~

I would call the nursing department and speak to an adviser on where to start regarding your classes, etc. They will be your best bet. Talking with your guidance counselor couldn't hurt either.

And...yes, this site is pretty amazing! :)
