Looking for any RN programs that take less than 2 years to complete (16,18,20-month etc)

I don't know if you're looking for ADN or BSN (or if anything would compel you to move to South Dakota of all places), but the BSN program I'll be starting January is less than two years. January to August of the next year. It's through South Dakota State University, but it's located in Sioux Falls (the physical main campus for SDSU is in a town less than an hour north called Brookings). The downside though is that it only starts in January each year. So applications won't open up again until next August.

Are you looking for an accelerated BSN program? Several of the ones around central NY are about 18 months total.

Check out UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing. It's a diploma program and it's 16 months. It is really difficult, but I love that I get a TON of clinical hours. They also have agreements with many universities where you can continue for your BSN, which is what I plan to do when I graduate in April.

Pittsburgh is a rare area that has several very successful hospital based diploma programs and graduates from these well known rigorous programs find jobs ASAP. Pittsburgh also has a really reasonable cost of living.

Are you looking for programs for second-degree students? Or is this your first degree? Are you looking for ASN or BSN programs?

If you already have a bachelor's degree in another field search for ABSN programs - there are a number of them through out the U.S. Most are 12-18 months in length.

I would caution against a less than 2 year program. I am in the second year of an ADN program and the workload is very challenging. If you are able to devote 100% of your time to nursing school, a shorter program could be feasible, but solely working and doing nursing school is a daily triage of priorities! Also be aware that there are many opportunities for research during school which can take additional time, if you're interested in that kind of thing. Two years fly by; I feel like I just started yesterday!

I am starting nursing school in Spring and it is a 3-semester ADN program. I believe all the colleges here follow the same protocol. Minneapolis MANE schools. (public community college)

Not related but I drove through Sioux Falls once and stopped for a meal and I thought the town was so cute! I would go back.

Related, I also just got in to a ABSN that's 18 months.

Even if you're not a second degree student, MUSC here in Charleston, SC doesn't require you have a previous bachelors degree for their ABSN program. There are about 60 hours of prerequisites, but that's only an associates worth. And I believe the program is 18 months. Plus-Charleston is one of the most beautiful cities in the country!
