Hello everybody!

Im a nurse from Philippines. I just received a job offer from Interior Health as full-time registered nurse:yeah:. I just lack one requirement which is the LMO before I can start processing for working visa.

My question is, how long does the processing of LMO by the employer in HRSDC? Can anyone give me a rough estimate?

Thank you very much! Your responses are highly appreciated:bow:

We ask that any questions regarding Immigration and registration as a foreign trained nurse is posted in the International forum, your post can still be asked and answered

On average takes 3 months to get LMO, most hospitals may have an ongoing one so may be quicker but look on average 2-3 months

Once your application is complete you will find the process will go quickly, applications I have seen from start to finish including medicals takes roughly 4-6 months so even whilst waiting for LMO it will go quickly, gives you a bit more time to study for the exam

Do i need to wait for the LMO before starting processing my working visa or can I submit now my application to CIC while waiting for the LMO?

THANKS in advance!:yeah::yeah::yeah:

You need all paperwork to submit your application. Get everything ready and then when you get LMO all you need to do is post it

You can send in your work permit application to CIC without an approved LMO. it is called concurrent processing.

but I would advice you to wait till you get your LMO approved as it doesnt take that long to obtain one for RN's

2Nurse2,

Thanks for your reply! Does it takes weeks or months for the LMO to be processed by the employer? Could you give me an average timeframe before I can actually have it?

Thanks:bow:

As I said LMO doesn't take too long, even then you will still need to go through medical before you get your work permit and be allowed to work. I think an approx time scale of 6-8 months for everything, this includes finding a employer and starting the process isn't that bad.

Just to let you know I got my LMO emailed to me from my employer in Alberta in 24 hours, they have a fast track system in some provinces for some jobs I believe.

The whole process for me took 8 months from the College in Alberta getting my documents to me getting my TWP. I start on 15th Sept - took a holiday 1st :-D I did have to chase for my TWP as the originals went AWOL in the post.
