Level of Question (Low vs. High)

I dont know what are considered the hard questions.the CAT determines your competency level based on the number of hard questions you can answer correctly

Hello, I took the NCLEX may 20th and had difficult or so I though difficult quesitons. I had about 10 SATA questions but never thought about the diffuculty of the quesitons while taking the test. I was just focused on the test. Alot of my questions were longer than one sentence while another student said she was sure she failed because most of her questions were one line sentences and she passed. We were told test is geered towards you and asked questions based on your previous answer. I do not know if I passed as of yet and mine shut off at 75. I honestly could not say because as for me my mind was so focused on the test I just read and focused. I did use my board and wrote down labs and used arrows when I came to a lab question which it helps because you stop look at the labs and see your arrows so if you start to get nervous over seeing a lab question it gets your mind off of the actual question and you look at your values you have written on your board. SATA is only a format or style of question, depends on what it is asking whether or not it is higher or lower level.

Priority questions are what you want to see, one that includes that type of information as to who you would see first, or what you would do next concerning a patient.

Med calculations are usually at a lower level as you have been tested on the math in school and were required to pass an exam to finish your program.

I took my nclex today and i felt like i failed as well like most of people i read about on this website. I cried alot and i was angry...anywayz.

i see that you said medication calculation questions are low level and i am afraid that i must have failed then. because i got 4 med cal questions and 3 of them were similar type of converting unit which i had no idea. after i got home and i checked and i know the first 2(of conversion) i did wrong and the last one i did right.(i guessed but i got it right)...and those med questions i got them for my questions in 70s. mine stopped at 75. i think i failed. and seriously i wouldn;t know how to study even if i have to take it again,the test was very content-focused..and my SATA was mostly choosing symptoms...i didn't expect the questions to be that detail-oriented.. i did kaplan with 50-60s in Qtrainer.....hew...i just dont know.

my first questin was a med calculation. i believe that some of those are either on the level or above it, because they do not start you off with a lower level question.

ron134.thank you so much for letting me know that.i do feel less frustrated although i cannot let go of the feeling of failure. just to ask,, what kind of med cal question was it?was it the IV flow rate? or medication dosage? conversion any chance?like mcg to mg?..or am i not supposed to ask these things?...thanks anyways.

Any of the calculation types you listed would be possible on the NCLEX exam. You can not list any of the test content on this site due to copy right. Try and stay positive!!! Good luck.....
