  1. well, its more like my parents applied for i485 and our case is pending currently. However, in case the result doesn't look good,(which means no greencard), i would like to separately apply for greencard through sponsorship from the hospital. So, currently, it is very hard to get a sponsorship/petition as a new grad??Have you heard anyone getting petition from the hospital as new grad? do you think i should be looking into nursing homes? What area would most likely to sponsor/petition? Any in Ca? thanks,
  2. What do you mean by retrogression? i keep hearing that word, but i am not sure if i fully understand it. Does it means that the i485 processing is being delayed? Well, it is true i do not need petition if i am using the work permit through my family. However, i still need sponsorship/petition to open up new file separate from my family in case it does not work out with the file from my family member. I guess my Q would be..after 3-4 months (if i do recieve my renewal work permit)when i am still a new grad without experience who graduated almost 1 year ago....will there still be hospitals sponsoring/petitioning for me? or..what should i be doing in mean time while i wait for the renewal one?do you think it helps if i volunteer somewhere nursing related?Do you have any recommendations/suggestions in where to volunteer? Is there any volunteer work available where i can actually use my clinical RN skills? Thank you so much,
  3. Well, currently, i have applied for green card and recieved the reciept i485 and waiting for it to process through my family member. So, i know im legally able to stay in United states currently, its just that i didn't realize i had to renew the work permit yearly even though i already applied for the green card. you know what i mean???
  4. Hi,I graduated from 4yr in march 08 and got my license in june and even had an job offer from hospital. My problem is that during the I-9 process, i could not provide work permit since it was expired. Therefore, i cannot start working for new grad program. (Currently, i applied for renewal of working permit. )Now, i don't know what to do. Do the hospitals still offer sponsorship or petition even if i cannot start working immediately?I am worried that by the time my renewed working permit comes out, i am no longer a new grad without any experience...who still needs sponsorship/petition....Suzanne or anyother experts, do you know what i should do?????
  5. wow. im actually suprised to see that the hourly wage is very low in other part of USA...I know my classmates got hired at Alta Bates, Oakland, California for $39 or so..as a new grad...wow..no wonder it is so hard to find job in bay area huh...way better pay than other areas...hew..
  6. some Qs i got was.... -What is critical thinking and how did you use it during your preceptorship? -What does the teamplay mean to you? and most of the Qs people wrote in this post!
  7. ron134.thank you so much for letting me know that.i do feel less frustrated although i cannot let go of the feeling of failure. just to ask,, what kind of med cal question was it?was it the IV flow rate? or medication dosage? conversion any chance?like mcg to mg?..or am i not supposed to ask these things?...thanks anyways.
  8. I took my nclex today and i felt like i failed as well like most of people i read about on this website. I cried alot and i was angry...anywayz. i see that you said medication calculation questions are low level and i am afraid that i must have failed then. because i got 4 med cal questions and 3 of them were similar type of converting unit which i had no idea. after i got home and i checked and i know the first 2(of conversion) i did wrong and the last one i did right.(i guessed but i got it right)...and those med questions i got them for my questions in 70s. mine stopped at 75. i think i failed. and seriously i wouldn;t know how to study even if i have to take it again, the test was very content-focused..and my SATA was mostly choosing symptoms...i didn't expect the questions to be that detail-oriented.. i did kaplan with 50-60s in Qtrainer.....hew...i just dont know.
