Let's introduce ourselves...

hi everyone! i'm holli. i took boards on june 13th and passed with 75 questions. i am starting work on july 18th at the only hospital i ever wanted to work for. it is a great pediatric facility! i will be on the (post-op) surgical floor, and we also have all of the endocrine kids. also, they just added an epilepsy monitoring unit, for overnight monitoring and for the brain mapping they are doing. i expressed an interest in that, so they will cross-train me in that unit as well. i can't wait to get started!

so, tell me about you...

holli, rn

My name is Sue and I took the NCLEX 1/6/11 and passed at 75 questions. It was by far the worst test I have EVER taken!

My interests are OB or cardiac, and i have applied for the internship at my local hospital system and hope to start working as an RN in February.

Hi I graduated in May from a ADN program. I started working in July on a med surg unit that is suppose to be one of the more challenging units to be on in the hospital. the resource nurses complain about the amount of work on the unit. I feel that I am gaining knowledge in leaps and bounds. I feel like I am pushing myself as hard as I can. I have good and bad days like everyone else. I love the experience I'm getting in the hospital but I don't plan on being a floor nurse for long. I'm interested in IR, maybe OR, or a doctors office that does some procedures I could assist with. I have some interest in Home Health or hospice nursing as well.

I would like to go back to school and get my BSN. but right now I want to enjoy my days off work with my family. I don't want to write papers and research and stress out about nursing stuff any more than i already do for my current position.

Hi there:) My name is Gina. I passed my boards in Oct. 2010. And just got my First job. It was my first choice job. Many people do NOT like Psych. But I really like it, and I am in the biggest psych. hospital in the country. Really excited but also nervous and scared. I was asking for some advice and some comfort.

Hi all I pass my boards on august 19 and after 6 mounths no job for me jet. I hope it will come soon.Best of luck to all of you.

Hello! I am a new RN. I graduated, passed NCLEX, and started my first job in Jan 2011.

I work in a LTC/SNF. It can be very overwhelming at times as I have an average of 30 patients. The skilled side has a lower census, but the patients are more acute.

Most days I feel like my RN stand for "retarded nurses" instead of "registered nurse." I am also working full time, with lots of overtime! Everyday I learn and grow. Some days I cry. Some days I want to quit. I look forward to the few moments when I really feel like I am making a difference or when I get a sincere "thank you" from a patient. Real world nursing is NOTHING like school lol!

Thanks all for reading! I hope to make some friends on here!

My name is Luigi. Passed my exam last month. Jobless and never getting tired of submitting applications. In the right manner, space and time I will get a job and do well. *bow*:smokin:
