Keeping LPN practice current

Published

What are ways to keep my LPN practice current?

How do others feel about self-reflection in nursing?

what does self-regulation in the acute care setting mean?

what is the LPNs scope of practice in the acute care practice setting?

When I'm not working full time, I keep my LPN status current by picking up some PRN shifts with an agency. I also maintain my CEUs, along with some extras I find interesting.

I bekieve self reflection in any clinical setting is very important. It helps us grow as individuals and professionals. Journaling is a great way to do that.

Im not sure what you mean with the self regulation part.

Ive never seen an LPN in acute care, however the scope would be defined by the state and the specific facility (there are skills the state allows me to do under my LPN license that some facilities only allow RNs to do). If they are utilized in that setting, I imagine it's probably in a tech aspect.

Tell us what you think, or do your own homework.

Self reflection is always important. As is learning to research homework assignments.

Hint: LPN's scope of practices varies by state. You will need to research the state that is relevant to your assignment.

Awww, crap. This is for an assignment? Pffffffft.

Pfft!

This isnt an assignment, we are asked to look into experiences and such before ehading into our final clincal in the hospital. Was just looking for different veiws. Sorry

It's not an assignment, it's just something you were assigned to do for clinical in school. Got it. ;)

Assignments you hand in. To get a better understanding is not an assignment. But thanks for helping. Fellow nurses at help.

If your instructor asked you to do it, it's an assignment
