ITT Tech?

Have any of you looked into their ADN program? It is new in Michigan this year; however, Indiana just had their first graduates, or are getting close to graduation.

I took the HESI at ITT Tech in July. I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear something. If all goes well, I plan to start in September. :yeah:

One drawback is the cost. Another is that nothing you take here will transfer. That's something to condider if you are young and may eventually go on to obtain your BSN. Me? I'm in my 40's now. No chance of getting my BSN.

Please post if you know anything about this school, or if you were one of the many who took the HESI here. No waiting list. Score high enough on the HESI and you're in. The caveat is that they are only taking 30 students to start. I plan to be one from the initial class. We should hear something this week.

Hi Peggy,

Congrats on starting NS next week! From what I have been told, the first class of nurses from ITT will graduate in Dec, so how can they have a low success rate? I think whoever told you that at the hospital you work at, must be ill-informed!

I am one of the top 30!!!! I am excited about the new experience! See U all in orientation tomm!!!!

How was orientation? They gave us 9 books! A huge stack!

Can you give me some information on this school? People are saying it's expensive, how did you pay for it? Does Sallie Mae offer loans and stuff for this program? What campus and what are the hours? Sorry for all the questions, I didn't know ITT offered a nursing program...

I am getting close to graduating from the nursing program at ITT in Indiana. Just to let everyone know, ITT is finializing things with HLC which is an accrediting board which will make all credits transferrable to any university. Second, you only need your RN license to get your BSN, doesn't matter which school you went to. Third, ITT has been the most successful startup nursing school in Indiana in the past 20 years. It is expensive but you can qualify for grants and sallie mae loans. It is worth the $ if you don't want to wait 3 years to be accepted in to a cheaper program. I think anyone who is considering going to ITT must keep in mind that the accredidation that it receives in Indiana from the first graduating class does not "blanket" accredit every ITT nursing program, so study hard and get your money's worth and be the best nurse you can be!

Thanks for ur post!!!! I'm considering itt for nursing however i'm some what skeptical.....so i hope that u don't mind but i have a ton of questions!!!! Is this school slow pace seeing that u only attend school 3 da a week? How many yrs is this program? How often do u study? How many classes do u have each quarter/semester? Is there a large failing rate with students in the class/ do student have to repeat the classes often? How are the teachers? I know that I maybe have over whelmed you with questions but I thank you so much for your time and hope to hear from you soon. Again, thanks!!!!!!

What state are you in? We are just finishing our 2nd quarter (out of 9) here in MI and for the 1st 3 quarters you are not in the hospital doing clinicals, we have a very well staffed lab on campus were we are learning many basic skills i.e. vital signs, IV pump setup, phlebotomy, ect... We do have classes 3 days a week thurs far, however next quarter we will be at 4 days and than in June when we do start clinicals we are anticipating at least 4 days if not 5.

Personally I study about 25-30 hours per week. I know others who do about 50. It is a very new program, bumps along the road are to be expected but we have really bonded as a class and I am so excited to continue my education and can't wait to see what the future hold for itt :) Good luck in your decision.

How much is the tuition?

What did the HESI cover?

how is everyone doing at itt tech so far? plz let me know because i'm considering looking in to it. they just started there rn program in my town. i'm getting my lpn at another school that is not offering an RN program right because its on probation (not good, i know, but the lpn program has been great so far. be done in september) how much does it cost?

$52,478 dollars....yep, reallly

but the HESI is free :)

HESI is free lol. I attend NURSING in Missouri at ITT-Tech. Transfer credits also depends on the University or other school requirements. Furthermore, I have researched and have found many schools in my area who has the RN to BSN program, and only require that your license is current in the state of Missouri. But not all schools offer this advantage, but I do know you have to do your research to find out exactly who will take what!!
