So I just got back from taking the nclex. I got 75 questions and was in there for about 45 minutes-1hr. I got a lot of prioritizing and teaching (about meds, postop, etc.) and few (about 4) select all that apply. I honestly have NO IDEA how I did...I knew some answers didn't know others, guessed on a lot...
I am soo nervous about getting my results, does it take the full 48hrs or are they up early sometimes??
My advice- just study as much as you can & do a lot of practice questions. There's no way to fully prepare for the exam. Before you go in take a deep breath and be confident in yourself, it's not as bad as you think it will be.
I studied using Kaplan and I found that the NCLEX questions were VERY similar to the Kaplan practice questions (Q bank and question trainers) and think there were even a few that were pretty much exactly the same as kaplan.
Thank you to everyone for being so supportive over the last few weeks and hopefully I'll have good news in 2 days!

And the waiting begins... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! It took me about 45 min to answer 75 questions this morning, too. I don't feel all that great about it though. I had some priority questions, but I had a TON of teaching questions. Are those lower level? I also had 3 check all that apply and 1 math problem. I'm normally very good at math, but I couldn't even figure out where to start on this one! I guess the anxiety was getting to me. I can't believe we have to wait until sunday to hear the verdict!

I just got back. I had 75 questions in 1 hour and 20 min. Mine was all over the place. Many meds and lots of safety and infection control. I stayed out of town and was hoping to spend some time sight seeing. After the test, all I wanted to do was go home. That was an hour and 20 min drive. Now I am home and the waiting has begun.
Good luck and I have my fingers crossed for everyone.

I am not sure if teaching is a higher level question, but I would like to know that too. I had a lot of teaching and priority questions, and I am a nervous reck trying to wait those 48 hours. My test shut off at 75.

When you guys say teaching... can you give an example what you mean?

i think what they are talking about teaching is question ending like this "which of the following indicate successful teaching" or the other way around "which of the following indicates unsuccessful teaching". I think this type of question are passing question. they are analysis type.
my exam stopped @ 75 in hongkong, also encountered question like that teaching and prioritization, herbal meds, transcultural nurcng, infection control, 3 select all that apply, 1 dobutamine computation. hope i pass.
binanlaguna got it right on the money. those examples are exactly what i was talking about. i feel like i got sooo many of those questions! good luck to us all!!!!
Yes, that's what I was talking about. I even had teaching regarding meds and teaching regarding new diagnosed diseases. 24 more hours till I find out....:imbar.
