Hey All,
As a new member of the board, I just wanted to introduce myself. As you can see by my screen name, I am striving to be a nurse. I am in the Air Force and I am trying to get my pre-reqs done so that I can apply for both the nursing program and also earn my commision at the same time.
If any one has any tips or advice for me, it would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if nursing in the Air Force is any different than in the civi world, but if anyone is or was a military nurse, I sure would like to know about it.
My mom was a nurse, so I have always been around it and I think that is why I am interested in it. Also, a big part of my current occupation (firefighter) involves medical care and I really enjoy that part. Anyhoo, it is nice "meeting" you all in advance. I hope to hear from a lot of you soon.

Nice to meet you. Welcome to Allnurses!
that's not a mis-spell. i am a man and a nurse hopeful. i know there are some out there who do not support men being nurses, so i thought i would add a little humor. but, from what i have seen thus far, most of the people on this forum don't care one way or another about gender, which is very good to see.

Welcome to Allnurses! And let me say that one of the best nurses I work with is a man. The best of luck to you! :welcome:
