Interview Questions

I am a new nurse, I am 57 years old and I do not have any experience, all the jobs that I have applied for require experience. One site that I am applying to online ask 3 questions and I don't know how to answer them. I would greatly appreciate any input from fellow nurses.

1. What motivates you in a professional setting?

2. What are the 3 top values you look for in an employer?

3. In what areas did you excel in your last position.

Thanks in advance for advice.

Those are very personal questions and I imagine they want to hear your answers ...not mine or anyone else's.

You don't need nursing experience to answer these questions. Presumably you've held a job at some time in the last 57 years.

As others have said, no one can answer these questions for you. Reflect back on your previous jobs and your time in school, and find what is important to you. For 1--why did you get into nursing? What motivated you (other than a paycheck/benefits) to go to your previous job and do your best? 2--make it more substantive than "a good vacation policy." Again, look at a previous job--what was good about your employer? What do you wish they had done? Find 3 things and "buff" them up so they sound good. 3--other than your former boss/coworkers, only you know the answer to this. Did you relate well with clients? Did you solve customer service issues? Did people rely on you to be able to listen to clients and coworkers, etc.? Not trying to make a jab about age--at 57 you should have lots of good experience/ideas to bring to the table.
