Hi there, for a band six, deputy ward manager:
The obvious ones,
tell me about yourself,
why do you think you are suitable
what do you have to offer
how have you maintained current knowledge
For a band 6 I would ask clinical governance issues such as dealing with complaints, untowards incidents and staff competency issues such as actions in the case of concerns with ability.
I would also ask clinical scenarios "what if" that sort of thing.
Think about infection control issues,
Developmental plans - what would you like to see if you are successful, what changes would you make. Have a bit of knowledge about change management theory as well just in case.
Local and national government initiatives are there any specific targets that affect your area, how will you help to achieve them
How could you deal with staff morale issues, motivate, encourage your staff
What type of leader are you, look up clinical leadership and have a read
Think about stuff that is going on in your trust at the moment as well, I know with us we have capacity management issues and meeting the government targets increase the pressure on the ward staff, as a senior member of staff you need to think corporately but also try to support your staff as well.
Hope this helps

I recently had a band 6 interview, totally different field though as Im a midwife, but the non-clinical component of the interview included questions on;
-Qualities of a good leader
-Qualities of a good team
-What changes I would like to see and how I would facilitate them
-How I would assist in resource management and in the prevention of un-necessary waste
-How I could help to improve local health services
-Management of conflict between staff
-Management of conflict between staff and clients
Hope that helps

I've just finished interviewing for 3 staff - and I asked questions on competency issues based on the KSF profile for the roles. Equality & Diversity, quality and service development were some of the key areas I was interested in...

If you look at the above posts, this is a very likely scenario. My interview for Band 6 was like this.
The interviewer want to know why they should choose you for the position, what makes you special, your qualities, what do you have to offer, and how would you deal with certain problems, staff, clients, relatives....
Think about your human resource policies as well and work them into things such as conflict management, dealing with poor performance, dealing with recurrent sickness.

As Silverdragon says, take a little look at my blog, there's a link at the bottom of my post I have interview prep for qualified nurses in there.
Are you going to be scrub side, anaesthetics or recovery as this may give some ideas for the clinical questions.
Think of what would you do if scenarios. So what would you do if you get to the end of a procedure and the swab count is incorrect.
Clinical leadership, clinical governance issues in theatres.
Human resource issues, dealing with sickness / capability
There are other suggestions in the link in my signature, come back if you have any questions
