Interview attire

i'm hoping you all can help! I have an interview next week at a Seniors residence (nursing assistant position) and I have no idea what to wear! I know not to wear denim/shorts/anything revealing, but what should I wear for this interview?

Should I go with a long skirt and sweater? Or dress pants and shirt?

Please pass your ideas on to me!

Thanks!! :)

I wore khakis and a two-piece summer knit shirt set. I ironed the khakis.

I looked very nice, but also practical.

I like the long skirt and sweater idea. Wear nice shoes that are not too high in heel, for comfort if you an. Also, make sure your hair is styled attractively, meaning if it's long, to put it up or behind your face nicely. Wear minimal jewelry, no more than one or two earrings in each ear, small necklace, minimal jewelry on hands/wrists. Make sure any make-up you wear is conservative, not excessive. NO perfume is best; some people are extremely sensitive to even the lightest scents and may react to it. What smells divine to you and me, may really disturb others, especially in a confined office.

Do your homework on the place; knowing who key people are there and have an idea of of the questions YOU will want to ask THEM. It's a great idea to bring along a small pad of paper to take notes and also to have written the questions you would like to ask. Just be yourself and remember, you are interviewing THEM as well as they are interviewing YOU. You want to know what kind of place you are looking to work, what your resident to nurse load is, etc. I wish you the best of luck!!!! Let us know what you feel when it's done!

Can't go wrong with the basic black siut, and white blouse. Good Luck!!

Do nursing school still advise NOT to wear long sleeves.

I remember when I graduated 14 years ago, that you should wear short sleeves so that you don't appear to be trying to hide any "track marks" on your antecubitus. Sorry if that is "old school" teaching, I just wondered. I still stick with that one.

THAT is an amazing wealth of info. Thank you chaos!

Take out the jewelry from your tongue. Take out the naval ring. Cover up the tattoo across the small of your back. Ditch the nose ring. That should do it! :chuckle
