My day consist of parents arguing with me about missing immunization records that I have been calling, emailing, and sent home missing immunizations letter for 2 months now but since the due date is approaching and they fear their child will be excluded from school as well as the Halloween party so now it's my fault ugh :arghh: :sarcastic: is the day over yet I'm so over this whole immunization thing :nono:

I am so glad our exclusion day is the first day of school - kids can not be here if missing immunizations (on schedule kids are ok) or if I do not have the Exemption on file.

You are speaking my language :). But, I must say, it does take a lot of support from my Principals to make this happen.

I was the bad guy quite a while ago. I my barrel of giveacrap ran dry over parents being mad at me over this a long time ago. I am here to enforce the laws of this state and the policies of the school. You knew what they were and did not follow through by set date. Simple as that.

YaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaY! GO FLARE, GO!!! :nurse: :banghead:

We used to exclude on the first day of school but our superintendent threw a fit so now they get 6 weeks from the first day of school and 30 days if they are a new enrollee at any point during the school year.

In good ole Missouri- It is the law that there is no grace period. Which I am thankful for.

Here in Texas it is a Law but our district didn't really follow it - principals were allowed to do what they wanted for years - so frustrating on the nurses end trying to enforce compliance when we didn't have support from our administration.

I think it was a few years ago when we started to hear about Pertussis & Measle outbreaks that the higher ups finally cracked down and told the principals to start enforcing the immunization policy.

And what better ways did you come up with?

Sorry, not able to get on AN for a few days.We always had compliance.

This year we have a lot of young parents, mostly SAH moms and it is like pulling teeth. We have traditionally had older parents.
