Specializes in School Nurse, professor, OBGYN.

From a parents mouth. So what!

You are not the first nurse I met, and you won't be the last.

Guess what, your kid threw up, and can't come back for 24 hours!

I get it. I didn't like it in the hospital. I don't mind the Nurse Moms for some reason.

Specializes in school nursing, ortho, trauma.

my only response for them usually is are you an RN and do you want to sub on trips???

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

My son's school nurse knows what I do and keeps trying to get me hired so I can help her out...I'm waiting for the day one of my kiddos goes to his school as she'd have a blast with me there all day. Sadly his districts sends most of the kids I care for out of district

my only response for them usually is are you an RN and do you want to sub on trips???

haha....mine too!

I usually only say that so the nurse (or dr or other medical professional) will know that they can use medical terms and what not.

I had a nurse argue with me about my refusal to dispense unlabeled medication from a baggie to her precious flower. My response "if someone handed you a bag of unlabeled meds in the hallway and told you to give it to the patient in room 412, would you give it?"

She looked at me a few seconds and then stated "Well, not without a proper documentation and labeling. Oh..................." Then, the lightbulb went off!

I usually only tell other nurses when they give me that look and talk dumb to me..
