I have 2 pairs of Danskos and on both I had to size up.

Yes, I had to size up, too. Normally, I wear a size 7, but for Danskos to fit comfortably I have to get the equivalent to a size 9. I like my shoes to be loose.

I had to size up on mine.

I wear size 7 (American) but in Dansko's I order the professional clog in size 38 which would be equivalent to size 8.

I just bought new Danskos this week and was told by the salesperson that they should fit very snugly around the top of your foot. He stated that they will loosen over the next few weeks because they "stretch out" quite a bit. Mine are not tight around my toes and the heels are pretty loose.

I also have the professional model, and I had to size up on mine in order to fit my "larger" foot properly.

They are the best shoes I've ever owned...at the end of a 12 hour shift, my feet and back don't seem to know that I've been on them all day. I love them! :) :)

i sized down with the box leather where it was snug across the top. they did not stretch. i took them to a shoe store to stretch and they were still to snug. so snug in fact the top of my feet were in pain a few hours into the shift. i no longer wear them.

i got oiled pro's that i sized up. much looser and they are not sung at all across the top. fit like a charm and no problems with pain.

i always get the sport clogs and size way up. i wear a 9 - 9 1/2 and buy dansko's 42. the arch feels right for that size. i wear thick socks with them.

If I had to size UP for a shoe I just wouldn't buy them! :chuckle :p

I used to wear the White Dansko professionals until last year when I found them to fit much differently and I kept twisting my ankles in them

I swore by them for 3 years.

The size upping was true for me as well. I wear an American size 8.5-9 and wore the 39 Dansko. The 38 was WAY to tight around the top of the foot! Even the correct size was too snug for my taste and too loose everywhere else. Wear what works for you!

My favs now are Aaisics running shoes(very high priced but hey, for a 14 hour on the feet day...not so bad) They are sooooooo comfy and support my feet beautifully. There is enough white in them to pass as white.

Yes....wear what works for you. I often alternate the Danskos with New Balance sneakers although the Danskos are much more supportive, they do have a high wedge/heel which I could do without (already 5'11"!!!).

Hi,

First I sized up, problem remained, next I tried the model that was just like the professional model but, made to help with the snuggness on top, it helped a little.

Yet after my first 12 hour shift in them I returned them. I have a high arch and need a flexible sole and had humongous blisters on the balls of both feet from my foot naturally flexing inside the shoe with each step.

Oh yeah, and I had blisters along the top where it was 'hugging' the top of my foot. I guess they aren't for everyone, that is for sure. :)
