Sep 15, 201411 yr Congratulations RN!!! I am happy you passed. Please can you share what you used for the success.
Sep 15, 201411 yr Author Kaplan Q bank, Kaplan Q trainer tests (1-4 and 6), Kaplan in class 4 day prep, Saunder's book. We were required to do >2000 questions in the final semester of school. If you went to a school with a high NCLEX pass rate and you did well in school, then you should do fine on the test.Don't let the horror stories of people not passing after numerous attempts get to you. I studied my butt off for the test. During the test it gave me a multiple choice question, if I got it right then it gave me a SATA. If I got the SATA wrong then I got a multi choice again. It alternated multi and SATA. Kaplan instructor said that your pattern should be a sawtooth in a narrow zone for the computer to think you are competent enough and shut off. Once I noticed my pattern, I relaxed and kept it up until Q 75. Once it went to question 76 I started to get anxious, then shut off.
Sep 15, 201411 yr Okay that's about what i am using to along with la chirity PDA. Im so lost on how to start with the saunders book, i have taken the exam before and failed so i have a different story from you. How SATA you received?
Sep 15, 201411 yr Author Half of them were SATAs. Prioritization and Delegation is the key to the test along with content to know why it is a priority. Knowing that you see a child with a bee sting and difficulty swallowing first over a person with chest pain because ABCs. Airway issue trumps circulation issue. I used Saunders for content only, Kaplan for NCLEX questions.
Sep 15, 201411 yr So Im guessing you went to Kaplan LOL. Guessing by the study guides. Good to know your school taught you well. CONGRATS!!!
Sep 15, 201411 yr What do u think about nclex compared to kaplan? How did kaplan rep u for the test ? Btw congrats on passing nclex
Sep 16, 201411 yr Author I think the online Kaplan questions were very helpful in passing. The fact that you can see why they chose the correct answer and how many questions that I chose the correct answer but changed to incorrect before submitting. In addition,my school (especially Med/Surg instructor) prepared me very well and I felt it was not as difficult as I had anticipated (maybe they were nice enough to give me only the questions that I knew the answers to).
I took NCLEX-RN on Friday and got my results today. 76 questions and it shut off.
