hi there,
here in chicago, il we have the kaplan review, martin review, and excell review (formerly known as the adell review). just before my last semester of nursing school started i took the martin review, which was okay in my opinion. it was too much information to be absorbed being taught at a such a fast pace. after graduating from nursing school, i took up the excell review which was a lot better because as opposed to the martin review, you have 4 different teachers (specialized rns - ob/gyn, peds, med-surg, psych) compared to only 1 teacher (dr. martin). these 4 teachers teach their specialized area, which is great and all of them i could tell were very passionate about what they had to teach. kaplan review i have never taken up but have heard good things. personally, i find kaplan as being more strategy in choosing answers on nclex that actually focusing on theoretical material. my two cents. anyway, i hope that helps.
