I passed my nclex!

I took HURST and failed......what was it that helped you pass the test from hurst...i studied the content and know it by heart...but that wasn't enough for the priority qs i got on the real nclex...share your insights....did you get a bunch of sata? select all that apply qs

83sunshine, I'm using Hurst too. Did you do the online review or book? I'm just doing the book. What specific topics should I focus on with Hurst? Please let me know :) congrats on passing!!

Dragonfly and whit9446- I took hurst aswell and failed, very few post I saw where people passed with Hurst. Hurst is good to cover with content but not with qbank. Kaplan and Saunders are the best, but Kaplan most, I used Kaplan book and cd, back and forth, practiced some Saunders within 4weeks, NCLEX 75 qs first time and I did it. Practice SATA and priority and you won't go wrong.....critical thinking. Always patient first,ABC and asses,diagnose,plan,implement and evaluate your nursing actions...don't forget Maslow,s hierarchy of needs...very important too. Do not try to be a physician.... nurse, the client advocate that's US. Good luck to everyone and prayers too.

@dragonfly777 and malenurseil dont give up, get up from the floor, take a dx test to know your weakness and attend to it.the lord will see you true. he was with you through your nursing school he will not forsake you now.......wishing you the best in your next test.

Thanks for the congrats everybody! @Dragonfly777 and MaleNurseIL I am very sorry to hear that you guys didn't pass, but I know if you keep going that you can do it! Just keep trying, you made it through nursing school, that is amazing by itself! You were meant to be nurses and you will be! :hug:

I do believe that what works for someone is not necessarily what works for another, and everyone should always do what they think helps them the most. I personally used Hurst review online and I also have the Hurst book. Everyone in my class that has used Hurst has passed so far.

I didn't ONLY use Hurst, I also used Saunders and LaCharity's Prioritization/Delegation book. The Saunders book is great for reviewing, and the LaCharity book really helped with prioritization. I wrote all my notes while listening to the Hurst reviews, then highlighted while listening again, and then I looked them over before listening to Hurst review questions. I think the best part of Hurst (for me!) was the reasoning behind picking things. My test had alot of SATA and priority. I felt like it was priority priority priority. I felt like I had to know which was the one that I would do if I had the ability to only pick ONE thing to help my patient. I also liked the exam cram because I felt like the questions were VERY similar in style to the NCLEX.

did you do the pearson trick to find out if you pased? if so, how long did you wait after taking the test to check it? i take nclex on tues. and i'm wondering when the earliest time is that i can try to re-register to see if i passed...thoughts???
