I got the job!

I found out yesterday that I was given the middle school school nurse position that I had applied for! :x3: I am so excited, and I know the nurse who is retiring from that position is really excited for me, too, and has been getting things ready and wants to give me a tour of the office when we can arrange it this summer. There were four positions available, and while my kids were bummed that I didn't get the high school position (the school where they would be in a few years), they know how happy I am about this!

I used to teach middle school and took a course on middle school development, so I am sure that the people who interviewed me liked that a LOT.

Yay! I can finally say that I'm a full time school nurse as of August!!!:)

Yay for you!!! Congrats!

Congrats! So exciting! That is great that the retiring nurse can give you a tour--I started months after the previous nurse at my school moved away so there was a lot of putting pieces together! Keep us posted on how your first year goes!!

We were worried that the district wouldn't even interview for new nurses before halfway through the summer, which made being able to get together with the nurse we were replacing a little more difficult. Thankfully, the district got in gear and I was able to make contact quickly, and we can plan for some training before I step in this fall. I hear she has been creating a binder with information for me all year, so I am sure that will be helpful! I am replacing a nurse who has been at this school for 25 years. Those are some big shoes to fill! But I am happy for the challenge! And thank you!!!

Congratulations!

Fantastic news for you! Congrats!!! Enjoy your Summer :)
