I got the job!

Published

I interviewed for a public health nurse position last week and I found out yesterday that I got it! I'm so excited! I start July 8th. I'll be working in maternal child health in a low income clinic

I know my current employer wasn't thrilled when she got my notice today, but this is better for my personal and professional goals.

No more nights, no more weekends, no more on-call! I might actually see my husband and we can start a family!

Grats on the new job.

That's great! I will be on nights starting in August. I'm a little freaked by the notion of working nights and every other weekend! Oy.

Thanks everyone! I am currently working in medical/oncology and although I love my co-workers and my manager, I'm burned out on death, dying, and cancer. We get all the hospice patients, inpt chemo, etc, and I decided a few months ago that the amount of death I was dealing with was really getting to me. I was originally wanting to go to days on my floor, but that's not going to help. In school I loved my public health rotation with this clinic and everytime I get down on my current job, I think about going there. It just became time to suck it up and do it! I turned in my app last tuesday morning, got called 2 hours later, had an interview last Thursday, and got the offer yesterday!

I'm nervous to start because it's a new world to me, but I'm excited for the change and to learn something different!

Congratulations!!!
