Well I haven't been on here much since about april/may...I had taken LS3 the end Jan/beginning of Feb and failed (i honestly was just too anxious to get done with it, and didn't put much studying time into it, thought i could just "wing it") waited and re-took it end april/beginning of may after studying REALLY hard and reading all material in the textbooks and BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP...got a D AGAIN! I took a break at that point because my heart and drive just went to crap...I've since enrolled in two online courses through EC to get my 6 humanities credits out of the way, and I am now re-eligible to retake LS3 but SCARED to death... I have it scheduled for Sept 9th but I already know i need to push it to the end of Sept now because one of my kids has to have surgery and I do not have the time to devote to studying...also i have attempted to re-read the chapters again but i'm sooooo bored with the material i can't seem to stay motivated! I really don't know what else to do and i'm terribly frightened that i'm going to fail again I really wanted to be graduated by the end of the year but it's probably not going to happen now. I'm frustrated, tired, and almost to the point of quitting (but it's not an option right now, i know i have to finish)
thanks for letting me vent!

You can do it Tasha, just take some more time and study. I remember this was one of the hardest ones. You've come this far, this is just a little hurdle you will get over.
I guess i just felt like i was the only one in this prediciment...ugghh made me go crazy. I will PM you a link that helped me with LS1 and LS2 gemini...

Tasha,
Have you tried using saunders NCLEX review to study? I too, failed LS3 twice! The third time I started from the beging of the study guide and used Saunders. I passed! You can do this! Keep your head up! Dont give up now

Hi Tasha,
I'm really sorry to hear you of your setback. Do not despair, you can do this. I was also unsuccesful in my 1st attempt at this exam. This was my 1st and only failure. I was devastated to say the least. I like you was very anxious to finish and as a result failed to adequately prepared this one.
I requested a retake in 15 days and was granted approval.
My strategy was to immediately record all the questions and areas I remembered, that I knew for a fact that I had no clue as to the right answers. I did this in the parking lot while in my car. When I got home and everything still fresh in my memory, I looked up as much info as I could. I studied all the areas I felt weak in. I also used Taber's Medical Dictionary which is a great source because it will give you NSG DX, NSG ACTIONS and all the most important stuff r/t a disease or disorder. I also used Saunders but make sure you are using your medsurg text too because the Saunders is not comprehensive for this exam. Do not let too much time lapse between your studies and your retake. I requested a waiver to test earlier because I strongly believe that the longer you wait after a failure the harder it is to past (IMO). I also used some personal notes from another student here and you can also try using flashcardexchange.com. Different things work for different persons so try to mix up your approach to see what works best. For me, SG101 and Lisa Arendts notes just didn't work for me.
If you wish I have file of 100 things to know for this exam from RNBRIDGEPROGRAM. Send me your email and I will forward to you. I also have powerpoints received from a nursing instructor if those will help.
Good luck in your next sitting. You will pass next time, just continue to believe in yourself and try to ignore the fears: tell yourself: I MUST PASS!
Hi determine2brn sounds like you have a good study plan do you have any pointers for the LS2 and i hope to take LS3 as soon as i can get this one under my belt

I can send you 100 things for LS2.....this one is hard too but if you prepare and know the content you will pass on 1st attempt. I remembered this one had a lot of regulatory mechanism questions. I studied for 2-3 wks. I will have to go back to my notes to see what tips I can give you. send me your email. Good luck!
