Hi everyone
Can anyone offer advice on how to study for the NET. I am attending Schoolcraft and would appreciate anything anyone has to say on the matter.
Thank you, have a nice day,

They have practice booklets that the school usually gives you for practice, also if you google NET test you will find practice problems on the internet as well. I focused on the math instead of the reading but found the reading to be harder for me so I would also recommend that you complete the reading practice questions as well.

There is a GREAT book that you can get from any school bookstore that will help you. There are practice tests at the end. I would concentrate on the math, but it is basic basic math/algebra. (think decimals & fractions.) You will have 1 hour to do the math. You only get 1/2 hour for the reading, so while some people say the reading is easier, you can time out. Don't panic & you will do fine.

When I took the NET at schoolcraft, we only had Math and Reading.
The math is very basic - fractions, percentages, decimals, maybe some basic algebra... If you feel comfortable with that, you should be fine with the test.
The reading was harder for me. You have to read quickly. If you need help with this, there is a very good website on Henry Ford CC to practice with reading comprehension and timed tests. http://hfcclab.info/NET/index.htm
Go in prepared, but don't let it worry you. It isn't that bad!

I had the NET study guide book but the HFCC website helped much more. I focused more on the reading because I was comfortable with the math. I ended up doing very well on the test (90 composite, 95 math and 85 on reading comprehension).
Good luck - relax...it is not as difficult as you are probably working yourself up about it.
Happy Friday everyone,
I just wanted to say thank you to all of you that replied to my question about the net. You are all so helpful.
Thanks again,

I borrowed the book for all those math probs. That part helped me a lot. Since I don't have trouble reading, I skimmed through the other part of the book. Thank goodness I saw where it mentioned: When you are doing the test, make sure you read the ANSWERS FIRST. Then you'll have an idea on what you are looking for while you are reading the paragraphs.
Had I not seen that in the book, I might have not done so well.
I passed this info to someone who had failed the NET 3 times. She called me last fall, thanked me for this advice. She was ecstatic, she finally passed!
Good Luck!
