How much are you or have you spent on LPN programs

Published

I've been looking at different schools and there tuition costs i've looked at schools that cost from 5000.00 to 20,000 for LPN programs. So this is the question how much have you spent on your LPN program or how much are you going to be spending? I need advice. Also how lucky have you other nursing students been with getting scholarships and/ or grants. Thanks

I did my research on this when I was trying to decide RN/LVN

I went to a certain tech school in the area that has that "catchy"tune..(clap clap you can do it!!

Anyway, they gave me the royal tour in the posh facility. Then after that, they sat me down and said the program would be $20,000 for the 18 months

Now, at best LVN's make 17hr around here. Why would I do that when I can go to a cc and get my RN or LVN for a fraction of that?

Those programs have a way of making easy to sign your life away. If you want to do the LVN try CC ..you will save yourself a lot of money!!

I'm going to an accredited community college that offers seperate ADN & PN programs. This years LPN student's paid: $5,359.00, The RN students paid $7,427.00 (I couldn't imagine paying $20,000 for an LVN program, WOW)

I haven't been lucky getting any grants, because of my husband's income. I am applying for scholarships based on GPA, but a lot of them require their applicants be : lower income , just out of high school, different field of study than nursing , being ethnic or living in a different geograhical area .

Good luck to you!

Wow that's pricy! The ADN programs around here are $6,000 and that includes the cost of prerequisites and all your books. I wouldn't pay over $3,500.

My LPN program is going to be under 4K. That is for 12 months of schooling. The first 3 months are even part of the LPN program, but my HCC and CNA prereqs that the school makes you do before the start of the program. I think the 2nd year (for the RN) is around 2-3K.

So far this year I have spent about $1200 in paying for tuition and books for prereqs.

Im in school now and I am estimating it will cost me about $3000 in the end. I attend a 10.5 month full time (Fall, spring, and mini summer session) program thru a community college. I have spent about $600 for fall semester, $800 for spring semster for tuition, about $400 for books and the rest is misc testing fees, uniforms, skill kit, etc. Summer semester should be around $400-500. The information packet we recieved said it would cost about $5000 for LVN program and about $6000 for RN program. I have heard so many different fees for the programs. I guess it just matters what kind of school you will be attending.

I am in a RN program & it is $6000.00 a semester this does not include books. I spent $801.00 for my books for the first semester & also had to buy the other stuff scrubs, shoes etc. I do not meet the "requirements" for fin. aid!

I'm graduating in 3 weeks from an LVN class from a adult school in So. Cal. It was part time lasted 22 mos. and i spent approx. $2500 including books, scrubs, other accessories plus $300 or so towards fees for license, fingerprints, school pins & grad ceremony.

Good luck!

Hi, I'm attending a private tech. school for my LPN education. It's costing me $19,000.

I was lucky to get grants from the gov. and have to pay an additional $300 per month to the school for my tuition. I chose this route because there are waiting lists for the state run tech. schools in my state.

I need to know how much LPN cost and how much RN cost? and i want to ask if i can just straight go to LPN school without go to any medical school before?. and how long LPN school and RN ?:)

Hi,

I am in Southern CA too. Which LVN school are you at?
