How many more math classes will I need?

Hello, this is what I finished so far: math prep class, pre-algebra, intermediate algebra, and I am now taking College Algebra class for my ASN. I had a choice of taking statistics or College Algebra, and I went with College Algebra. I did good in the other math classes, however this one is a tougher cookie to bite into. I am just wondering is there more math classes ahead? I mean for BSN and Masters Degrees? I really want to continue my education past the ASN, but not sure if I can handle more math, as it is only getting harder... Please share what you know. Thanks so much. Silika.

You'll need stats for sure, but it is not like algebra. You may find it much easier (or harder, you never know).

Statistics may be required for a BSN. But often people find stat to be easier to handle than algebra.

Our local university requires alegebra to enter BSN and MSN and statistics only for the MSN.

Check out the University websites. They usually post their requirements so you don't have to keep guessing before you see a counselor.

I will reiterate that statistics may be the only "math" you'll need to further your education after the ASN/ADN. I took statistics about 25 years ago and I found it to be more of a critical thinking class than a math class. Every morning on the news, you'll hear about some new scientific study that was done. With the knowledge of statistics and what is statistically significant, you can determine which studies are worth listening too and which ones are sort of bunk. It's not something to have nightmares about in the same way a calculus class would.

The BSN programs around here require statistics. I just took statistics last semester and it was a very math intensive class with lots of calculus. I'm not sure if that is normal for statistics classes though.

Although one BSN program I'm looking at specifically stated a math based statistics class was required and business-type statistics classes won't count as a pre-req.
