How long will the wait be for MCC with only ONE choice?

Published

Hi! I am finishing my last pre-req right now and will be able to submit my application for the December application period! I only want to go days and wanted to only have MCC days as my choice. I need to take BIO202, BIO 205, CHM 130 and HCR 240 to be able to apply to the ASU cep program. How long do you think the wait would be if I only put one choice for the program I would be willing to do? I am nervous if I put other colleges and programs, I will be admitted sooner than I could finish my CEP pre-req's.

Typically if you're only putting one choice, your wait will be long. I would say at least a year. If you only want to do CEP, then wait to apply to the pool until you have the ASU pre-reqs done. Just because you have the Maricopa pre-reqs done doesn't mean you have to apply.

I feel it is important to add that just because you do CEP does not guarantee you a spot at MCC, especially since CEP has become much more competitive.

Even with all 5 choices I'm projected a 3 semester wait, so good luck...lol

Have you completed Chem130 + the lab? Isn't that a pre -req for admission into ANY of the MaricopaNursing programs?

I also only wanted Mesa's day but applied to GWCC day, evening and accelerated hoping to get in sooner. Could you do a block at one school and apply for a transfer later?

Yes, Chem 130 needs to be completed for any of the programs.

Yes, you can do block 1 at one school and transfer BUT often times the books are different and placement into a different campus can be hard.

I took Chemistry in high school so I have that pre-req covered. However, to go to ASU, you have to take Chemistry 130.

MCC has no wait at all currently. I'm in Block 4 at MCC and that's what the admin has told us. :) Good luck!

Unfortunatley, MCC is the same wait as any of the colleges right now, trust me I'm on the list and MCC are my first two choices for just with that being said its a projected 3 semester wait. I applied in may 2016 and my projected start date is august 2017 without CEP

Hello, I submitted my application December 22 2014 and my application was stamped January 5th 2015. I had 5 choices and am finally going to be startting this spring 2017. I hear CEP is about a 2 semesters wait so if you're lucky that's all you'll have. Also I recommend you apply before finishing your prerequisites so you don't find yourself in a dead wait. Also you can bypass the Chem prerequisite if you took it in HS good luck!

That's odd because people up to October 15 2015 were all placed already. Maybe something happened with yours

If someone applied October 2015 that means their wait begins after the fall semester of 2015 and if they have been placed already does that mean they only waited for the spring 2016 semester? I took Micro with a few other people who applied at the same time as I did and they are barely staring this spring Also.

They are either confused or something was miscommunicated. There is currently about a 3 semester wait based on a time stamp. I'm on the list....
