what should i do to get emergency experience?
I am about to start working in the ER as a new grad. If you have evaluated your strengths and personality and generally just know that the ER is where you really want to be I would suggest aiming for it actively. Take your resume with you when you have clinical in the ER, go to association meetings and talk to those who work in the ER irregardless of what position they hold to get more information. Do your research so you can ask better questions during your conversations. I am an BSN, RN, BLS. Doubt I would have had to be done with my BSN yet. Need to get my ACLS before my start date but had 2 week notice on that.

Maricopa Comm College CEP Fall 2017 Applicants
Hello, You do not need the ALS (advanced life support) for the program. You do need your BLS (basic life support) although you do not need it done to apply. I have mine done because I thought I needed it early on in the process. A year later and I am about to need it so I would recommend waiting to take the course so you do not need to renew it half way through the program. - After orientation i'll let you know when exactly you need it by but at a minimum it is a month or two after acceptance.

Yes don't lose all hope yet! While I have heard from Glendale/NAU, they have asked us to send back a signed intent. Those that do not intend to attend or are choosing to defer will have their space filled. Those letters are not due back until March 7th. Best of luck – I know waiting can be difficult.

Maricopa comm college CEP Applicants fall 2017
HI. I did receive an email from GCC/NAU. Ever since they are really pushing to get our contract back so they can fill the spots of those who have changed their mind or choose to defer. The deadline as taylormade26 said is March 7th. I hope you hear soon! The waiting is the hard part.

I heard today too. Glendale weekends and NAU! First choices so I don't have an answer for those asking about other Maricopa schools as a first choice. I wouldn't be nervous yet, I was told it could be early March. Best of luck!!

I am not sure if you know for a fact that the total is 10 points because that would contradict what I have heard but I figured I share what I was told too. I heard the same with the HESI scores except that it came to 12 points total. For GPA I heard that they just multiply your GPA by four for a maximum of 16 points. I asked because I wondered if retaking a course and improving it by one grade really made a difference and they assured me ever improvement counts. In addition to this I was told you get an extra point for having all the course work done aka no in progress classes (for the universities that allow them in the first place). And 1 point if you have an associates degree, 2 for a bachelors, 3 for a masters etc. (only counting your highest degree) - This came from the Glendale campus. I'd love to actual figure it out they are not very forthcoming about this information. Good luck everyone!!!

Maricopa Comm College CEP Fall 2017 Applicants
Hello – Sorry for the slow reply. I submitted my application through Glendale Community college as they have been best at returning my calls as well as offer a weekend program that I am interested in. I did just about the same thing with my pre-reqs I took 4 in one semester to get them done in time for the application deadline. Why march and not generally the spring semester – are they online in 8 weeks? Either way as long as the grades post and are on your transcript in time to submit the application on May 31st than the earliest start date would be the next January (Spring) for the nursing blocks. That said if you go with a university like NAU you would be in courses for them in August (Fall). After the application deadline there is about a month wait to hear on placement. I can't wait to hear – it should only be a couple weeks now. (End of Feb or early March for the Jan applicants). I hope this helps too!

For me cost, concurrent graduation time frame was what influenced me the most. I have a B.S. from one of them which wasn't the best experience personally so I scratched that off the list. Another big influence for me was theit participation in a financial aid consortium. I hope this helps. I'm curious of other as well! My CEP application was submitted today and now on to the last period of waiting!

I am hoping for this same time frame too! Summer University start. NAU is my first choice and then I have GCC, PVCC, and PC as my top three.

Did you end up taking this course at Rio? How was it?

How long will the wait be for MCC with only ONE choice?
I am new to the nursing pool and applying to CEP this December. I was told from both Maricopa and the university that I should be able to start the CEP this coming summer and Block one in the Fall (2017) so that is technically a 2 semester wait but I am in university classes for one of those 2 semesters. From Nursing pool to letter will be about 6 months. What are your particulars - are you applying for a CEP program? I believe that helps the pace as you already have more done and they really don't want you sitting around for that long. Also the diffrent Maricopa programs reserve seats for the CEP vs the ADN so you may look at the proportions and adjust your preferences if you haven't seen the newest numbers there. (Mesa is 85% CEP spots - 100 total spaces) I hope this helps!

That is exactly what I understanding. If you are in the Maricopa pool and apply to CEP when the CEP program accepts you you can do the first semester online with them and Maricopa works hard to get you started the next semester. I actually havent heard of the timing being any othe

Hello! Thank you for making this thread. I was hoping to 'meet' others in the NAU CEP on here for the same semester as myself. I can't wait to apply - January is just a few months away now! My first choices are GCC and NAU.

Maricopa County -GCU MSN CEP
I know this post hasn't been active in a little while but I am so excited to find it! I am entering the Maricopa wait list after summer 2016. (About how long did those of you in the last year wait?) I am very excited about the cep GCU program and am certainly hoping to participate in it. How is the program going for those in it currently? Any pointers? Thanks in advanced!!
