To finish your ADN though Excelsior?

One year, one month, and one day. LOL. No, really! First exam (A&P) on May 14, finished CPNE the following year on June 15. I was CPNE-ready by November, though - waited a long time for my date, then my CPNE.

Wow that is quick! I have a to pretty much start from scratch because I basically only have my pre reqs. My respiratory school was through a vocational so Excelsior won't take any credits from them. Thank you!

Started in February 2005.

Had a kid, changed jobs, took care of father with cancer, changed jobs again, and other bumps in the road.

Graduated July 2013.

You won't find many that took longer than me (and actually completed the program).

Lets see, first exam was A&P 19 Mar 2009 , last day of CPNE 21 Mar 2010. Waited until July to apply to Florida for the NCLEX because of Law changes, passed NCLEX 25 Aug 2010.

Wow, Nalon 1, that is very inspiring for those who have been in the program for a while already. Great determination. Congratulations on your achievements.

1 year, 1 month, 2 days. First exam was Dec. 2012. First CPNE August 2013 - failed. I knew it would take some time to wait for a CPNE schedule so I tested immediately when I got the chance, not necessarily because I felt I was ready. I am unemployed so the thought of possibly passing and being an RN fast was so appealing to me. Obviously, wrong move. Then I retook CPNE on January 2014 and passed it. Insufficient funds and most of all, my devastated confidence in myself was the reason for the delay of me taking my repeat CPNE.

How often were you guys scheduling your exams? Every two weeks? Once a month?

Usually every 3.5-4 weeks. Here are my dates, in reverse order:

MICROBIOLOGY 558 11/28/2007

NURSING CONCEPTS 6 466 10/17/2007

NURSING CONCEPTS 5 465 09/26/2007

NURSING CONCEPTS: FOUNDATIONS OF PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE 467 09/17/2007

NURSING CONCEPTS 4 464 09/04/2007

NURSING CONCEPTS 3 463 07/31/2007

NURSING CONCEPTS 2 462 07/03/2007

NURSING CONCEPTS 1 461 06/04/2007

ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY 506 05/14/2007

I tested under the old "Nursing Concepts" (NC) curriculum, so NC1 = Health Safety, NC2 = Health Differences, NC 3 = Chronicity and Repro (yes, they used to be one HUGE exam), NC 4 = LS1, NC 5 = LS2, NC 6 = LS3, and Foundations of Professional Practice = Transitions. By the time I took Micro I was already waiting for a CPNE date (which I didn't even receive until April, and the date was for June). This was before there was the FCCA, too. I did a couple of CLEP exams while waiting for my CPNE as well.
