Agree with the other poster. This is going to be very location dependent. For example. My first management position was around 75K/year. Now I make 110K/year in a larger metro area. Cost of living...plus some areas just pay really poorly. You can always ask for a position salary range from HR.
How are job prospects in this field? Just about to finish up my BSN but I already know I have a passion for leadership from my experiences in nursing school and at my current job, and that I want to further my education.
The job market is pretty good for certain specialties. It seems like ICU and ED managers are always in high demand. For certain specialties it can be hard to get into management without working at that facility first. If you are open to relocating you should be able to find something if you have a good resume (experience, education, certification).
I was offered $150K per year to take over a 30-bed inpatient mental health facility in SoCal, a lot less responsibility than a house supervisor. However, the state income tax (I live in a state without one) and a housing cost about 3-4 times what it is where I am made this a lot less attractive.
Im interested in becoming a house supervisor and in the middle of getting my BSN. But Im wondering what other experience I would need? Also, the national average pay for house supervisors is $94,000. Is this accurate?? Thanks:)
I just took a job as a house sup for a level 1. Not at that pay range, but near - Northeast region.
