  1. Which stack of forms should the house supervisor take with her?

    • Stack B because that's what's written on the Post-It.
    • Stack A because that what the arrow on the Post-It indicates.
    • It doesn't matter because no one will ever notice.

Situation: On the psych units at Wrongway Regional Medical Center, 15 minute Patient Safety Round Forms are completed on the MN shift. Copies of the completed forms are made for the house supervisor to pick up when she visits the units and the original is placed in each patient's chart, usually by the charge nurse.

The house supervisor comes to the geriatric psych unit while all staff members are out on the floor providing direct patient care and finds two stacks of the completed Patient Safety Round Forms in the nurses station:

Since black ink is used for charting, it is difficult to determine which stack are the originals and which stack are the copies.

But...regardless of the stack she chooses, she should take both Post It notes; just in case.

She should be careful not to accidentally bump either stack into the recycle bin because that would be tragic.

Neither one because nobody actually looks at them?

I was in medical records at Mixed Nuts Health Systems back in 2002, looking through a client's chart. I wanted to note something and couldn't think of the name of those sticky yellow pieces of paper.

I asked the secretary, "Could I have one of those... oh you know... 'pasties'?" She laughed and said, "Do you mean Post-Its?" I replied, "Yeah- that's what I mean!" I paused, looked pensively and asked, "What is a 'pastie' anyway?" She said, "It's those things strippers wear over their boobs".

So, the OldDude has a point: The house sup should take both of the Post-Its in case she decides to be a stripper who uses Post-Its instead of pasties!

You didn't by any chance, Sour Lemon, find the missing answer key, did you?

Is this a trick question?!

Since the originals get filed in the pt charts she should take the stack A because the pastie, oops i mean post-it, on stack B has an arrow pointing to stack A as being the copies.

Then she can go file those in the round file later after she has made herself look very important.

Daisy, I think your question is a trick question.

It's also too loud with that exclamation mark behind it.

Turn it down some. I'm trying to think here.

Aww, did I hurt your feelings. Well I have one more comment (AKA trigger warning) before I try to explain myself in a more appropriate manner (AKA therapeutic communication): Relax DaveyDo and don't get your tidie whities in a bunch.

Now, what I meant in my first post was: I am sorry, I didn't quite understand the test question, it was all my fault, maybe because it was late and I was tired. My brain was asking if this was a comic based on a real life DaveyDo experience, or a real test question that DaveyDo gives to his psych pts, or a question DaveyDo had to himself answer on a real test, or did DaveyDo just make this up in his own head? Either way, I am sorry for being too loud and obviously too aggressive in my answer. I will do try to use my words better next time.

OK, DaveyDo, all better now, do you feel better, can you think better now, can we still be friends??

ACT-SHOO-ALL-LEE, Daisy, I was making a reference to a Drew Carey joke about two flies on a piece of feces.

My cartoon version of the joke:
