Has anyone else had difficulties using the FAST option on the RCN website

http://www.rcn.org.uk/elibrary

it keeps asking for a username and password and my RCN number won't work, just wondered if it was something really blonde like needing to register for that separately? I can't find an idiots guide on their site, and i thought everyone on here would be used to me asking dumb questions by now.

So any advice or suggestions?

Please

Whisper have you tried re-registering - go into "myRCN" in the top blue bar and then register online

You'll be asked for your RCN number and a few other personal details it should then let you in.

I have had a few problems every now and then but re-registering has always sorted them out

I had a problem accessing the online journals etc so emailed them and they were able to help me...might be worth trying that.

Thanks I tried that just now, no joy. So I've emailed the RCN its frustrating as I can get to most of the site just when I get to the FAST part ovid sp won't let me in. I guess it is a sign I should not be lazy and trawl all the databases my self!!

its not a great website..

if you are looking for journals etc, you should be able to access Athens and get an Athens account. talk to your hospitals post grad library about that. Also try google scholar- I found that very useful when doing my masters research. NeLH is also very good.

oh nearly forgot.. google book is good too!
