Hello all,
I'm currently CPNE eligable, I live in Atlanta, GA. I am unsure how to study for the cpne or what prep class to take. I have read reviews from people and everyone have mixed reviews on prep classes and sites. Also have anyone taken chancellors cpne prep class? For those who did not use a prep class, how did you prepare for the cpne. Any advise will be helpful and appreciated.

If you have Facebook, check out the group Conquer The CPNE Beast. There is a lot of information from current and past students regarding the CPNE. One of the most talked about workshops (and I'm not making any recommendations at all here), is located right in ATL: Sheri Taylor's ATL Clinical Workshop... Good luck!
@ceezee thank you.

I went to the Chancellors Care Plan lab class about 3 weeks before I took the CPNE, and it was instrumental in my passing on my first attempt.
The Chancellors lab will walk you through each lab station, every AOC, and give you lots of time to practice. They will help with care planning as well.
The last day of the lab is a mock PCS with feedback.
The instructors there know their stuff and are very supportive both during the lab week and after.
Before I went, I was considering pushing back my test date, but after I completed the week at the lab, I was SO much more confident.
And take Ceezee's advice, join the face book group Lets Conquer the CPNE Beast Together. Very helpful people and lots of great tips for getting ready to take the CPNE.
@rnbearcolumbus thank you

Have you received your CPNE Study Guide from Excelsior? That gives you everything you need to pass. I think it is Chapter 4 that had all the requirements to pass and the automatic fail items in it. That should be your primary study material.
The courses out there that are offered help clarify what you need to do to pass. I personally used RobsCPNE.com. It was a lot cheaper than any other course out there and gave me what I needed to pass. The site looks like it has had an overhaul since I was last on his site.
I just had a coworker that passed the CPNE last weekend. He used Sherri Taylors online worshop, RobsCPEN, and of course the Excelsior Study Guide. He passed all skills the first time and failed one patient care (he said something with his charting, forgot to chart something that was a critical item).

I used the study guide, flash cards and audio CD. I bought the supply kit, it comes with a book to show you how they want the labs done step by step. I used one month subscription to Robs CPNE and basically all I watched his videos but focused on learning the neumonics and careplans. I submitted careplans through the message center and had them critiqued. I passed on my first attempt. Please look under the topic CPNE Alice Tx that I started. I have posted my experience and some suggestions. Just a suggestion.
@shelia88 thank you.

I swear by Christy's Clinical Boot Camp which is in Miami. 3 days of demo with plenty of hands on.

i used all of excelsior's online classes and workshops. I also did ATL clinical bootcamp online and live workshop, and Christy Rodrigues's online and in person workshop. There's alot to this test, mentally as well. Don't underestimate it.

Hello,
I'm not CPNE eligible yet, but I am curious how long have you been on the wait list? Do you have a test date yet?

They just added another site back in so the wait times may go down somewhat.
