i've never done anything like this before..but people around me just don't understand. ok here it goes. it has been almost 3 yeras since i graduated nursing school. i have taken the nclex three times and every time at 265 questions has shut off. i have taken the hurst review and have multiple books i study from. at this point i really don't know what to do or where to go from here.
i feel like i shouldn't be doing this. how many times do they have to tell me no before i get the picture. i don't know how much more i can take and how much more i can study. when i study with nurses i work with they look at me like seriously you don't need to study anymore. you know the material. i can study with people and have no problems. when i take the practice test that hurst provides and the NLN predictor tests they all say i am gonna pass. yet every time i have taken the test i have failed. not sure where to go or what to do from here. any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear this.
I am taking mine in this month ending.
I have not been in your situation so I dont know what you can do differently or what you are doing wrongly.
Your issue is making me nervous about my own exam.
I am curious if passing the NCLEX this far after finishing nursing school, will affect your getting an RN job, or furthering your education etc. Do employers, grad school etc. know how many times one takes the exam?

Looks like you KNOW the material. You need to also know how to strategically break apart answers to the questions, in order to be able to pick the correct one. NCLEX is alot more than simply knowing info. It is indeed a CHALLENGE!! Good luck to you!!

Please do not give up! Continue until you pass. I failed the nclex more than once and before I knew I passed. I found out that I had testing anxiety, since one of my friends was a psychologist I went to see him and 2 weeks later I passed. No employer will ever know how many times you took the exam unless you release that information to them yourself. I sat down and made a well thoughtout study plan and I studied a max of 2 hours daily for 8 weeks using exam cram, frye bullets, and kaplan. Pick yourself up again, you will pass! Remain positive all of you hardwork will soon pay off

I am in your shoes also and want to let you know your not alone. I have attempted several time myself and still not pass. I have used the Hurst Review and other sources. My next plan of action is to hit sample questions that are the same as the Nclex questions. If you have been to the National Board of Nursing website, they offer a online review, but I would think looking at their questions would help. My last exam, I was seeing so many questions that look the same. I found the actual Nclex questions not as long as compared to other Nclex Practice CD's.
I know it is so frustrating that we can no pass this test since we invested so much money in this review. Be proud that you have succeeded in nursing school and you have to sit for just one more test before you can work as an Nurse.

Took my exam for the first time earlier today and found out that I failed (according to the PV trick)..
My eyes are swollen because I couldn't stop crying ever since I saw that stupid credit card information page..
However..
I am not the type of person who gives up easily. Even though I am still in the process of accepting my defeat, I know that sooner or later, I will rise above this, and dust myself off, try again and OWN this exam!
Let's stay positive.. It's not the end of the world after all and I'm pretty sure that there's still a lot of things to be thankful for..
Here's to starting anew and hoping for the best..

hi, i ve been reading so many posts bt wasn't a memeber but because of your situation had to sign up
and share my mind. well in the first place i understand your situation, i will be test in August bt from what i read from your post, its seems like you ve studied the review books available to the extent that when u get questions from other books , then it seems like those questions are different. my experience is the Kaplan strategies and review, i know every question in these books to the extent that, when i see any free Kaplan questions then i get angry Cos i dont even read through the questions carefully then will choose an answer, bt when i get different review books, it seems i ve not studied at all unless i go over it for sometime before i get my way throu.
in short what am trying to say is that, when u go for ur test again, never rush and dont expect to see those questions u saw in ur review books but get the understanding of the questions and u will come out successfully.
Dont be downhearted the downfall of a man is not the end of his life. Gud Luck to u.......

I graduated in 2006, I am taking my boards again on 6/22. I want you to know you are not alone!!
I too have done Hurst and several other study guides.
For me, I had to put ALL THOSE aside, I chose to get Kaplan and only KAPLAN!!
I feel that the questions on Kaplan are the closest you can get to the actual Boards.
Please do not give up, I know how devastating this can be... take a break - PLEASE DON"T GIVE UP!!
PRAY, but do not STRAY if this is your dream.... feel free to email me.
God Bless,
Jo Anne
