HawthoRNe

Does anyone watch HawthoRNe? If so what is your views of it. My friend was telling me about it will watch it once the new season begins.

I love it! Honestly I really do! I don't really know if it is accurate or not but I've heard it is a really good portrayal of the nurses job :)

I suggest you watch the first two seasons to catch up it's really good!

Love it!!! I used to watch Nurse Jackie, too, but can't watch this season because we don't have Showtime and I refuse to get it (although hubby wouldn't care if I did...) I've been watching the last season of Mercy on Netflix now that DH is over. HawthoRNe is the best of the three IMHO.

Yea I am going to watch the 2 season and catch up because the season starts June 14th.

Love Hawthorne!! I dont know how accurate Jada's role is though..shes the nurse manager and she is everywhere all the time, and very supportive of her team..

I tried to watch HawthoRNe, and just thought it was horrible! The acting isn't good, story lines are very soap opera-y... Just my opinion though! :) Nurse Jackie looks pretty good though and so does Mercy! I am guilty of watching Grey's Anatomy and House... House is kind of hit-or-miss... Grey's I just started watching (I know, I'm behind in the TV learning curve!) and it's a little soapy too but once I watch something soapy I get sucked in! (I dodged a bullet with HawthoRNe!)

At first I was like, "blah. whatever. will not watch." But, a few months ago, I was here at home, bored and channel surfing and I caught a glimpse of the episode where the nurse's friend steals her prosthetic leg and was like "what the hell?" and I started watching it. Since then I have really enjoyed it. I can't wait for the new season... especially after the way the last one ended.

I love that show...is is realistic, no but it is fun and enjoyable to watch.

I was out of the country when it premiered, so I taped the first episode and was very excited to watch it when I came home.

I never did finish that first episode, because I couldn't get past the scene that depicted a nurse manually stimulating a male patient.

Two years later, I'm still rather steamed about it...

I've been watching Hawthorne from the beginning and it's good. I preferred Mercy only because the acting was 1000x better. I'm not a nurse yet, but I feel like the roles in Hawthorne may be more accurate. But, I could be way off base.

I love Hawthorne! It seems more realistic than Grey's Anatomy. I think Jada is a good actress.

yeah...Jada is the best actress on the show. I really like watching it, but I find like other nursey shows it is most definitely NOT accurate. I think the first episode of season 3 really proves it. One minute a ER nurse or peds nurse and the next they are an OB nurse in L&D....very strange. :uhoh3: Nevertheless most episodes have me either holding back tears or crying like a baby...haha.. It can get really emotional/sentimental and its that side of nursing that I like to watch. =) I think its getting better with this season...cant wait for the next episode tonight.

Nurse Jackie bugs me, IMO its making SMALL improvements but most episodes are SUPER boring. They need better story lines, or maybe just MORE to their story lines..seriously I watch every episode and not much new happens. I still watch it cause im dedicated to my nurse shows tho..lol

Wish they never cut Mercy. I watched it late (this summer) and its just not fair how they left us hangin like that. I think it really could have been one of the best nursing shows..really.

The first season, I did NOT like it----I was totally turned off by a nurse giving insulin IM..... and also wondered HOW that scene could happen when Jada's Mom (an RN) is an advisor on the show.....But from reading a thread here (or maybe it was another site), I realized we can't pick medical shows apart like that since they are supposed to be *entertainment* ;) So, I opened my mind, watched a few more eppies and still didn't care for it.

Fast forward to the CURRENT season (season 3)....decided to "give it a chance"...and WOW!!!:yeah: Verrry exciting story line, and I cannot WAIT for tomorrow night's eppi!! I like it so much now that I wanted all the back-story to this season, so I've been watching Season 2 (thanks, Netflix!). The more I watch, I just think Jada Pinkett-Smith is naturally beautiful and a GREAT actress!!! The actress who plays her daughter also used to bug me, (and one of the reasons was because she looked to me like she was in her thirties, playing a 19-year old---hee hee!), but, I reallllly like her now, and am also really enjoying her relationship with that wonderful new guy.....that Baptism scene last week might've been a bit over the top ;) , but it was also beautifully shot!!!

By the way, can someone tell me more about that stupid/ haunting RING that Marc Anthony gave her? it belonged to the man who attacked her, correct? Why would she want to hold onto something like that...too painful and icky!!!
