Has anyone failed with ZER0 Math Calculations?

Published

I took my test today 10/21/08. I reached 180 questions with (3) SATA, (0) Math Calculations, 10 Drugs, and the rest of the Exam was Teaching, Prioritization and Delegation. Can someone tell me if they know anyone who failed with ZERO Math Calculations? I prayed to God not to give me those kind of questions..and he answered my prayers. Hopefully I find out that he will also answer my prayer to Pass. I would kindly appreciate any Feedback. Someone to talk to would be really nice right now.. :stone

It is possible to fail with no math questions. Most people I know have had no math calculations on the NCLEX pass or fail, myself included. I wish you luck. Try not to stress out too much, I know it is difficult.

Yeah I'm trying not to. I didn't expect the computer to keep giving me questions. After 75 I thot it was going to shut off..then 75 became 100..then 100 became 140 then 140 became 180!! I was alittle worried because I thot the test would keep going on till the entire 265 questions. I prayed alot..actually probably most of the test I prayed since I have never gotten that far to 180 questions. So you have no math calculations and failed?

I passed thank god. But my friend took it a few days after me, she failed with no math questions.

Wow..I really feel in limbo right now. I had none but that doesn't make me feel any better. I struggled with the prioritization questions..most of the time it was down to 2 and I wasn't sure who to pick. I had Drugs but all of them were the ones that I had studied and knew very well...I guess I'll find out in 2 days if I passed...I really really hope that I passed. I studied really hard this time..

It is really hard to predict based on # of questions or type of questions. I think that just about everyone feels they failed the NCLEX. To me it seems like there is not always one right answer to that style of question. There is not much that can ease the mind while waiting for the results. I wish you well.

Thanks AimeeJo..And congratulations on finding out that you passed. I'm happy for you. =)

You actually do not want to see math questions on your exam, they are usually considered a lower level of question since the exam knows that everyone had to make it thru their math exam in school or they would have been removed from their training before they got this far.

Best of luck to you on your results, but there is no way to make an educated guess on how one does on the exam. It is impossible to do.

Suggest that you wait until you get your results and get then a definite answer.

I agree with Suzanne. You can pass or fail with zero math calculations, you can pass or fail with any combo of questions. Good luck.:loveya:

That's true. You can have any type of question in the exam and will not know if you pass or fail. I had 75 questions with 1 calculation, 1 documentation, 3 SATA, 2 Cardiac (not the strip), prioritization, meds and infection control. Thought I passed but to my surprise, I failed.

Good luck to you!

I am scared to death of math questions and to see that some people do not get them is a breath of fresh air.

If math is your weakness, then expect to get questions on it.

You need excellent math skills to be able to work as an RN here, there are meds that you need to be able to give dosages to.
