Grading scale

Hello all,

I am conducting research for my ADN program. The focus of my research is the grading scales other ADN programs are using. I would greatly appreciate your help on this project. All I need is for you to provide the name of your school along with the grading scale used in your program. If plus or minus are used (i.e. A+, A-) then please include that information. Thank you very much for your time and support.

-Fellow ADN student.

Anything below an 80% is failing, even if it is 79.9. There is no rounding of any sort on any assignments or on final grades for the course.

I do not think a program's grading scale has any bearing whatsoever on meeting or not meeting educational goals.

93-100%=A

88-92.99%=AB

80-87.99%=B

Anything less than 80% is not passing the class. Plus, you need an 80% exam average to pass the class. So, even if class average is 82%, but your exam average is 79% you do not pass the class. No rounding, ever.

Wow, some of the programs on here have really strict/hard grading scales. I mean, seriously, no going lower than an 80%? You serious?!

90-100 = A

80-90 = B

Anything below a B is failing and you must maintain a 3.0 in order to continue the program and graduate.

I'm in a BSN program:

93+ = A

90-92 = A-

87-89 = B+

83-86 = B

80-82 =B-

Anything less than a 80 is fail. :(

But they do round up! :) So 79.5 is still a 80!

We started off with about 60 kids in my freshmen year. Now I'm a junior we have about 30. (About 10 of these kids transferred into our classes from community colleges, and some also were kids who failed from the year ahead of us, and had to repeat the classes. So, about only 20 kids are the ones that I started with since the very beginning. It's quite sad)

I am going for my ADN,

93+ = A

85-92 = B

77-84 = C

Any final grade under 77 and you fail the course.

They do rounding up of grades... 76.5 is a 77 for them, so you have a wiggle room if only by a hair.

I plan to complete my BSN after finishing the ADN, and afterwards probably will go the DNP route, taking it slow of course.
