Ok do not panic, we are in a nursing shortage and if you were a good student and you are being realistic and you do not live in ICELAND you can get a job in Nursing, RN or LPN and what are you looking for, where are you trying to get a job. Have you applied to many places called recruiters and talked with them, dont be afraid of BIG hospitals, let me know we can find you a job where are you maybe I can help you through my nursing organization connections. DO NOT GIVE UP>

Also, is there a possiblity that you are requesting certain hours or shifts? Are you available for whatever shift they may be hiring for?
Make sure you have an excellent written and error free resume with a cover letter. Gather letter of recommendation from your clinical instructors or anyone who will give you a great review. This is more points for you. Don't give up and best wishes to you. :)

Good advice to you!!!!! Although there is a nursing shortage, many employers are looking for the right people to fill their open positions. Sell yourself. What are your attributes. Cater to the employer if that is the one you want to work with. Be sure to research the company you interview with. Some of us have learned the hard way. You are a valuable. Know what you want and get it.

All excellent advice.
Your lack of experience is not the reason. I graduated some years ago- the shortage was happening but it was not as acute as it is now, and many people I knew with no healthcare experience found very good jobs.
Are you just filling out the on line aplications or sending in packets? If so, I'd call up the hospitals. If you are looking in an area where you did clinicals, it makes it easy...just say, "My name is Joan, and I am a newly graduated RN. I had a great clinical experience at your hospital when we rotated through (peds, psych, OR whatever...) and I am very interested in a career at your facility." If you have no experience with the facility- call and ask, "What kinds of opportunities are available for new graduates, I am very interested in (insert your interest here), but I am also flexible. If you have friends working at a place, ask them who their recruiter was...then call and say, "My friend Joan is really enjoying her new position on the telemetry unit. She recommended General Hospital as a great place for a new graduate." (with permission from your friend Joan of course...)
You can get a job, please do not take something that is offerred if you know up front it is totally wrong for you...something nice will come along soon. :)
It's just hard to wait.

I am in the same boat. The advice offered above is valid. I thought it would be easier and the internet would be the way in the door. Not true. You have to pound the pavement and basically annoy HR to get responses.

thank you everyone for the reply...i will definitely follow the advice.... basically what i have been doing is just applying online and then get response from them saying that i'm not qualified... i guess i will start pounding on their doors maybe then i can get an interview...thank you so much...

Hi , also you might want to try posting your resume on healthcare sites. I did an internet search for RN recruiters and posted my resume . PM me if you want a few sites to start off with.

I have found that if you are a new grad you need to either visit or call HR. Online applications are most of the time for qualified individuals unless the hospital indicates to apply online. So as everyone mentioned call them and see what happens.
thank you so much.. so now, i finally have one interview this monday after calling and bugging hr... . wish me luck.. it is true you have to keep calling otherwise you will not get an interview...
COngrats on the Interview. Remember, don't take the job just because they offer it. Look around at the floor and see if you can imagine spending one year there...In your first year you don't want to be stuck somewhere just because you thought it was the only offer coming to you!!!
Good Luck!!!
