Hi, everyone! Our school got a grant, and with it we are re-vamping the student nursing association (wasn't really active since I have been at the school due to no money!). As a soon to be final year student (WOO-HOO!) I would like to be involved in this...however, we didn't get that much money and they are asking us for fundraising ideas. Does anyone here have any good ideas, or things they did while they were in school that worked well..maybe even things that your kids do for fundraising? We have all thought of the traditional, car wash, bake sale, ect.....we are looking to do some fundraising over the summer when we are not going to be bombarded with nursing classes. Any ideas would be great...thanks for your help!

How about a huge garage sale? everyone bring stuff you don't need/want and raise some cash.

I don't know if this would work, as it would be on a much larger scale than we did it on, but ....
We as a class made a cookbook, our class is appro 100 pple, and we made about 1300.00.
another really good one that takes minimal effort (and you only need draw tickets so little $$output at the dollar store) is 50/50 draws.
We do ours every second friday and go throughout the college and post the winning ticket number.... lots of fun and EASY!
Good luck and congrats on being in the final year!!

candles worked well. The home interior ones were really successful. And they smell great, too. Not too hard on my asthma, actually.

Call local entertainers and see if they can donate their time and talent for nursing students. Most of them will either do it for free or for a low cost. See if the school can give you the theater for a low fee if not free. You can sell tickets for as low as $10 and make a great deal of money

Our class has had two fundraisers for dinner & a movie tickets. You can go to different chain restaurants and ask them to donate gift certificates. I know that Outback does it. Our class raised almost $400 in the fall and another $300 this Spring.
Thank you all for the great ideas! Hopefully if we get our butts out there and do some work we can earn some money! Appreciate all your replies!

If you have a professional sports venue nearby, often you can run a concession stand as a fundraiser. We ran one for a Wizards game and a Chiefs game...I think we made somewhere between $1200-$1400.
